Me and my party of 6 went to sunchong for a friend's birthday. Our server (can't remember his name) was amazing ! The manger however, not so much. Our server forgot to check our ids at first but promptly remembered after realizing and the manger pointed this out and was clearly talking about us to our very nice server. We were celebrating our friend's 21st birthday and the rest of us are over 21. The manager then proceeded too give us dirty stares and looks for the rest of the night, even making comments with the security guard . It was clear he was making snide remarks about my and my friends . We couldn't even enjoy our dinner and asked for boxes due his dirty stares literally the whole time we were there. When the server asked him to help him close out a check the manager told him no. This wasn't my first time at sun chong i've been multiple times and recommend the restaurant to people but this will be my last time dining in here/ever talking about it again. It ruined my friends birthday while our sever was very nice management needs to learn how to treat guests.
Good service and cute atmosphere! They were out of several items, so that was a little bit of a bummer.
Overpriced for what it was. 18% gratuity charged for a table of 3 that didn't go to our specific waiter. Also drastically overcharged for crawfish. So drastic that one of our party (who lives in New Orleans) got the bill adjusted successfully. Average food for New Orleans.
The bartender. AMAZING!!! I forgot his name he has a ponytail. Really nice, always great service
I was so excited to go to Sun Chong, it has been on my list for a while. The service was okay but not super attentive. The food was good, but not for the hype and price of this restaurant. The drink was definitely not worth $18 - MAYBE $10 but probably $5. It is a cool idea of a place, but just did not hit the marks for me.
The food here was amazing and honestly for our first meal it set the bar very high .. the service was very personal as they checked in through the meal and in the start and end of the meal as well. Let me tell you for evening music it was all amazing and the vibe was everything.
The place is dim and poorly lit. We couldn't read our menus without the use of cell phone light🤮🤮 put candles on able to assist with lighting. I need to see what I'm eatting and poor lighting prevented this!!!! Our waiter was off her game. Forgot our sparkling water and a last minute request for kimchi.she finally recovered but impression was lost.
Not what I expected from a city known for its traditional Creole and Southern cuisine — but wow, what a surprise! Sun Chong blends Korean flavors with local New Orleans flair in a way that feels both bold and familiar. Every dish was layered with creativity and balance, showing real respect for both culinary traditions. Hats off to the chef and crew for delivering an unforgettable fusion experience that pushes the city's food scene forward.
Everything was Amazing!!!! It was a total of 7 guest. Our server Way was very helpful and attentive all night. Please send her our thanks. She also made great recommendations on the food and drinks. We appreciate how Wey was kept the drink flowing. The one thing we really would've appreciate was the heart glass for the Love You drinks.
Wonderful food, great atmosphere and very friendly staff. The crab Rangoon dip was one of my favorite appetizers I've ever had and beef bulgogi was delicious! The pricing was a little high but it's in the French quarter so that's expected. Would recommend giving this spot a try, you won't be disappointed!

After weeks of researching restaurants for my vacation, I was excited to try Sun Chong. This place is in my top 10 of favorite restaurants in this COUNTRY. This place saved my NOLA experience!!! The etouffee dumplings, the beef bao buns, the Korean tenders…..amazing!! I’m actually mad we found this place on our last night here. I tried to convince my husband to go back hours later. The Cajun and Asian inspired dishes with the absolute heart put in them makes this a must try in the French quarter.
Our server Way was delightful and helpful in making our choices and also advised us do we could get our order in before the kitchen closes! Can't wait to come back.
It was not my cup of tea. Sunday night at 5:30 and the light dimmed while the music was ramped up. I could not hold a conversation with my friends.
Friday lunch date! Street parking was full but luckily there's a paid parking lot right next to the W hotel which is a 2 minute walk to the restaurant. Inside is really small but nicely decorated with an Asian flair. Now the outside weather was a little cool which made inside COLD! The AC was blasting! My poor hubby had bumps on his arms. The music was a nice hip hop mix. The service seamed a bit slow. Outside of that we enjoyed. We started with the crab Rangoon dip. This was decent. It was hot, fresh, and straight out of the oven. The chips were really good. The sweet chili sauce was a nice complement. I felt the crab dip was a bit dry. I should've been cheesier. I had a Lychee Dragonfruit mocktail and this was delicious! Nice and sweet. My husband had the Honey Hennessy drink and he enjoyed it. For entrees we had the fried chicken with crawfish rice and the glassed salmon dish. Both meals were good but the crawfish rice stole the show! The salmon was cooked perfectly, a slight crisp on the top with a slight sweet touch. The fried chicken was seasoned just right and fried crispy. I would definitely return to try other items.
This is my second time. I always visit this restaurant when I'm in town. I loved everything we ate.
