I’m only giving 1 star because of the experienced I had on 3/30/2024. After being a loyal customer for 30 years I had not dealt with Swiss for the past 5years but found out that they were open in another location and immediately ordered a cake for a baby shower. Wedding cake almond flavor and butter crème filling. I peeked at the cake without having the lady to completely remove the covering because I was sure that it would be perfect as always. Once at the shower and covering removed the blues clue drawing looked like it was done by a child. Disappointment set in even more when the cake was cut. The inside was yellow not snow white as I was accustomed to and the texture was not at all light and fluffy. I called Swiss bakery and spoke to Sarah who asked me if I had pictures and I told her no I didn’t take any but I’m sure family members did. She said because so many people call trying to get free stuff so if I had pictures that would help. I explained my years of experience and high approval of Swiss Bakery and this was my 1st unhappy experience with them she told me she could put a note on my file for my next order to get a 10% discount and I was floored after spending $130.00 on 13x13 which was actually a 12x12(measured) at the party. I told her okBut I would not be doing business with th again. I did get pictures and sent to Swiss and finally got her on the phone Sarah said I looked at the pictures and I know you said you have not ordered in a while but we changed our flour and it looks yellow but that is our almond cake I said no way all the years I’ve ordered it’s been white, light and fluffy and did not have an almond tastes. She assured me that it is their almond cake. She really disgusted me because she was so non chalant throughout the whole conversation. That is why I’m writing this review to tell everyone that instead of admitting a mistake could have been made and owning up to it she’d rather just lie and tell me that this cake was almond when it is clearl a yellow cake!

I ordered an eatable image and the young female put a letter out of place. I asked could you move it and she texted "you do it or have someone do it for you". I spoke to Sarah and she did not care and want to say how good a person Asley is...she hung up on me and showed not respect just as the young Ashley. With her attitude, this has to be her daughter. She wants to refer you to her for an eatable image. Why not do it in house and not send it to a piece of work like her? When she sent me to the girl, she had no idea I had already spoke to her when ordering the cake, so she doing sneaky business behind this character Sarah's back.I recommend that no one do business with these lower class people.

I have been with Swiss for 22 year's and customer service has been left alone with the original location. They need to be more aware of who thet are letting work for their business, it is a better idea that they don't let certain family members work there. I paid $220 for a 2 tier sweet 16 cake with strawberry filling and a cascadeof butterflies. I brought over 100 butterflies and only 21 was applied then it is clear from the pictures that even Stevie Wonder can see there is only buttercream no strawberry. They never called me back. It took a month to get a rude lady on the phone that thought it was fair to offer a 9 inch cake, after having to bring it back because of the butterflies and then no strawberry filling. She said too bad to see you go but you can take your business elsewhere. I asked for her husband who is the manager and who took over for his family, she refused and said no. She is running off long time customers and ruining a get family busy. This is why local businesses cannot survive.

Exceptional service! I call it above and beyond service. I flew in from DC for two days and heard so many great things about this place! The cake is second to none. Please don’t hesitate and come to Swiss Confectionary whenever you come to NOLA! Impressive by far!

I used Swiss Confectionery for my wedding cake in December 2023. Everything was done via email and our cake turned out exactly as we had hoped. It was also the most delicious cake we've ever had at a wedding. All of our guests complimented it. It was also significantly less expensive than other quotes I received.

I have been a loyal customer of this establishment for decades and have never had issues with my order until this past weekend when I experienced the inevitable. I spent $74 on the order I’m referencing. I’ve only ever ordered their silver cakes. Today I inquired about a red velvet cake for a co-worker in which they don’t offer, she said they only carry yellow, almond and chocolate. She offered chocolate cakes in the cups by the phone receptionist and I decided to add that to my order as well. I paid in advance as always. I had someone pick the order up so I didn’t know the order was wrong initially. I called the following day because Swiss had already closed. I spoke with that same receptionist the following day and gave a brief synopsis of what my issue was regarding. She apologized and told me that I the owner would give me a call back once he finished his deliveries. I didn’t get a call back that day, which was fine because he’s really friendly and responsive. On Monday, alleged co-owner JENNA called me back. I was immediately dismissed by her before even being allowed a chance to explain the issue. She began by saying, “well what’s wrong with the order because I handed you your order directly and you didn’t say anything and I’m sure I handed you exactly what you ordered”. So now I’m trying to explain that I wasn’t the person who picked it up & I have pictures of what was given to the receiver. She then cut me off mid-sentence saying that they don’t offer chocolate cakes in a cup and it’s posted everywhere that they don’t offer that. I tried asking her where is this posted because Swiss doesn’t have an actively operational website for me to reference her statements and additionally, I called the shop directly to place my order like always, and neither does the greeting reference any specific items they do or do not offer. Last, the item was suggested and offered to me by the receptionist. Now Jenna’s talking all over me so I told her I’ll just be quiet and let you speak since I can’t. She goes on to say, “ well that’s how a conversation works, if I’m speaking you listen then you can say whatever afterwards,” as if I wasn’t the one initially speaking at the time and insulting my intelligence. Overall, the morale of Swiss has clearly gone down, and as a person in the patisserie industry, and loyal customer that has referenced a good deal of clients to their establishment, I thought I would’ve be able to rectify the matter more amicably with someone in authority. It’s disheartening to see what once was a great place to patronize, become so negative and distasteful. Last, the cake was cracked and icing bled, the inscription seemed rushed and not written in their usual penmanship style, both the cake and cakes in the cups were stale and dry. I received negative reviews from the guests. Seems as if they lost their original bakery staff as well.

We just ate our cake topper that has been frozen for 1 year and it was still absolutely incredible. It reminded me that we had not left this establishment the review they deserve. 10/10 would recommend. Swiss made the best 2 cakes this sugar addicted fat kid has ever eaten. We had a pretty standard Almond wedding cake and a chocolate Doberge grooms cake. Simply amazing; I’ve never had better cakes of these varieties. Thanks!

Cake did not taste or look fresh. Ordered a 9 inch round birthday cake. Almond wedding cake flavor. NO flavor was taste!Cake was decorated nicely. Pineapple filling was just plain pineapple jelly. Frosting was soft, tasteless like Walmart frosting. My guest were surprised that, it was a Swiss Bakery cake. Very, very disappointed in that cake. Over half of the cake is leftover. No one even wanted to take a piece home and most people do. I Will be looking for a new bakery. Creative Cakes is closed so I guess I will try another cake maker in New Orleans area. Disappointing birthday cake!!!!

Paid $140 for a stale cake..the only place I bought all my cakes...pick up a truck cake on Sept 9, 2023 that wasn't moist at all ..on Monday September 11 had to throw it away...wasted $140...wished I would've took a pic to show a judge..make sure y'all take pics of bad cakes ..you can get refunded thru small claims..left is the actual cake and on the right is the pic they say how my cake would look
