⭐️ Tal’s Hummus – A Taste of Israel in New Orleans!
I got a great recommendation from friends to try Tal’s Hummus on Magazine Street and decided to stop for lunch — totally worth it!
The restaurant is easy to find, clean, and cozy with a few tables inside and outside giving it a nice home-style Mediterranean vibe.
You order at the counter, and the food comes out fresh, hot, and fast.
The chicken schnitzel was outstanding — crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and served with Israeli couscous, hummus, and a refreshing chopped salad. Everything tasted authentic and homemade.
The hummus was smooth and flavorful with olive oil and a touch of spice — just like in Tel Aviv!
Service was friendly and quick, and the whole experience felt warm and authentic.
Parking is paid street parking nearby, usually easy to find.
Highly recommend for anyone craving fresh Middle Eastern food in New Orleans! 🇮🇱✨

I had a pretty great shawarma sandwich, I cannot lie. The hummus and falafel are pretty solid too.

We took homos and salad, the salad was fantastic and the homos was ok, it’s nice that there is free water and free pickled vegetables that was spicy and tasty..!
Yes, the price is not cheap if you compare it to the original price in the Middle East but this is America so I guess there is a good reason for the price.
Thanks 🙏🏻

Great food
Absolutely delicious from start to finish! The mixed grill and the pomegranate lemonade were full of flavor. Great ambience and attentive service.
Congratulations to the chef and staff on a job well done.
Highly recommended to everyone that enjoys good food, especially with an Israeli twist.

We ordered delivery from here last night, and I have to say, the hummus was the best hummus I’ve had outside of Yaffo. We are only in Nola for one night, on our way back to Texas but they’re doing the hummus right here and I highly recommend trying it.

I really wanted to take pictures of the delicious food and generous portions but we just attacked it all as soon as dishes came to the table. Great hummus, and Mejadra, great salad, and they really got me with the pickles… the pitas were perfect!!!!

We've ordered here before, but had it delivered. It was solid. The food this time was pretty good , but not as good as before. It happens, right? I'm willing to give a spot a few tries if I know there's a chance for greatness. Biggest issue with this spot, at least this time, was the attitude of the guy working the counter. I walk in early evening on a Sunday. There's no other people eating in there. The guy at the counter was apparently too bothered to take out his air pods when I walk in. I get to the counter and he pulls out an earbud and says something like, 'yeah?'. Seriously? It's summer in NOLA . Everything is dead. Places are making sacrifices to keep their teams employed, and this guy can't even greet someone with a hello? I then tell him I'm picking up an order. He half screams 'what?', as I assume his music was still playing in his other ear bud. I repay myself, but with a bit of saltiness this time (as is fair). He asks my name. I tell him. He asks again. I tell him again. There's literally ONE other behind him, and it clearly says my name in it. Also, I'm not a soft-spoken guy. When I talk, you'll hear me (assuming you aren't wearing ear buds). He then proceeded to half heartedly try to tell me that he's had several people with my name order today (that's BS), though I'm not sure what that has to do with my order.
I give a LOT of grace to service industry people in this city, especially in the summer. So got this guy to tub me this much the wrong way meant he was definitely not interested at all in actually representing his employer with any respect for the business.
Not gonna be back for a while. Try better, grumpy dude.

Great little casual spot for fresh pitas or vegetarian options - a step above Cava. The pitas are so fresh and bouncey. I ordered the sabich sandwich and had side of fries. The pitas was packed with fresh veggies.

Perhaps a bit dumb of a thing to walk away with, of all the possible places to get food in New Orleans, of the multitudes of cajun options, taco places, beignets, whatever else there is to do in NOLA, but this was my favorite place I ate at during my entire time here. We decided to walk back from the zoo to see everything in between there and the downtown area for something besides the French Quarter and this was the perfect place for a meal, especially in the heat of New Orleans (pre?)-summer. I don't know how bad the weather here gets (personal opinion here, everyone has theirs), and this was extremely refreshing in terms of both the welcoming environment that the owner sets up and the immediate calm that a humble side cafe leaves. I've never had shawarma, or whatever it is, because that looks like a wrap and I'm sure I didn't eat any gluten that I could see here, but it was all-encompassing. It might've been high heat at 2:00 pm exhaustion, I don't know. Perfect timing here is transcendental, and the owner is reserved and friendly and lets you enjoy this place however you want. I'm sure you can find tons of great places on Magazine Street, and this stuff did wonders after a couple miles and 80+ (I'm not very heat tolerant) degrees.
