The Camellia Grill

Now this what I call service: I walked in asking whether they'd sell me a Dr. Pepper's. They gave it to me w/out asking for money. Never ever had experienced that before. I am flabbergasted :))

Coffee is not good and service is worse. Five workers doing nothing, not even answering the phone. I’ve eaten there in the past but never again

Very mediocre food… Had a Po-boy and it was pretty disgusting. Although the server was attentive, the host was watching football and didn’t really give a damn to keep the restaurant clean (it was pretty dirty btw) nor pay attention to the customers (he was instead watching a football game on his cell phone).

Came here after a long day at the zoo and the food was so great and filling for the price!! Definitely coming back next time we visit New Orleans .

If youre looking for a quiet place this isnt it. Especially on sat and sun you can hear the din of the staff yelling at each other and customers. The interaction is great and humorous and entertaining. This place hasnt changed in decades and yes some of the servers have been there over 50 years! They have a diverse menu but the food is great. Served at the old diner style counter. No tables in here. I love it!

Such a fun vibe and great New Orleans experience. Short wait before you're seated at the counter and offered an array of breakfast items. Good food, great service but more importantly fun fun fun.

I had 2 experiences with Camelia Grill. In the 1 st one, the service was really bad. But the food was so good than I gave a second shot. This time, service was fine and the food still delicious. And you have enough for your money!

We've always been big fans of Camellia Grill, and try to stop in at least once whenever we're in town. Unfortunately our most recent visit was quite disappointing. The service was not what it used to be. Our server took our order, and then disappeared for the duration of our meal. She only reappeared as we were getting up to pay.

The old school experience of servers shouting customer orders to the grill cooks was absent. In fact, the cook was on his phone for most of our meal. No one checked to see if we needed anything once the food came. I had to ask for my coffee more than once. No refills offered (perhaps not included?). No toast with the omelette. In fairness, my son said the menu specified you had to ask for toast, but with our server gone for the entirety of our meal, I went without.

It's really too bad to see this change. Hopefully it was just an off day, but honestly I think we'll scratch it off our list next time. (Note: it was not busy when we went - maybe three small parties other than ours.)

I called an order in for two sandwiches and drove over to pick them up. There were two other couples in the restaurant at the time I arrived. I added two drinks to my order and when I arrived back home, I was missing one of the sandwiches. I called the restaurant and the cashier at the front door told me That they forgot to give me the other sandwich. I could drive back and pick it up or he would give me a credit but that’s all he could do. It was obvious that he was more interested in playing his computer game on his iPad then providing good customer service. Very disappointing from a place that we have frequented for 50 years And have wonderful memories of.

Tradition! Old N.O. stand by. Best for breakfast. Try the waffle with pecans & cane syrup. Very yummy!! Fun stop on the street car line.
