Fraudulent Business practices, beware. We booked our trip 1 year before our trip to Mardi Gras. They canceled our reservation 2 months before the trip, because they are “unable to accommodate your reservation because they’ll no longer be open during your travel dates, so your reservation is now canceled.” I just checked their website and the same dates are available for a higher price. So due to their price gouging we have to scramble to find a room now during the busiest travel time for this region.Update: since posting this we noticed that they charged our credit card for the full amount two weeks before they canceled our stay. No refund has been issued. We were not suppose to be charged until we arrived in February 2024. I have since called 6 times, I spoke to a Heather who said it would be refunded, it wasn’t. The following day I spoke to an Amber who couldn’t share any information but promised to call back in 15 minutes. An hour later and no one has called, and no one is answering the phone of their front desk. 4 calls and no one is answering!? At a hotel!? During business hours!?This is a scam. Beware of this business.

I had a great stay at The Drifter Hotel, a place I had been dying to check out since before COVID. This is not your traditional French Quarter experience. This is a much cooler, intimate place to stay that has both a quite, relaxed atmosphere, along with tons of programming, music, and more. Ty, India and Royce were amazing, making sure I was comfortable at all times. Whether you're staying for just a night between accommodations, or a full week in NOLA, I definitely recommend the Drifter!

It's been 2+ years since we've been able to stay, although we have stayed many times over the past 6 years.Every stay has been excellent, but this stay was even better. I never do reviews, but this experience has compelled me to do so.Every single employee was so helpful to us in so many different ways, that it's obvious they deeply care about their customer's happiness.Stu - The safe had malfunctioned. Stu went above and beyond late into the night, making several trips to the store in order to fix the safe, so that we could store our valuables securely. Stu, Amber, and Ty ( both mentioned further down) relentlessly worked each set up, for the couple of performances, that occurred while we were there. Stu was a warm and welcome face, that made it a mission to check on us every single day, to see if we needed anything.India - Made check in super smooth. When we decided to extend our stay, India was invaluable in working with us on room availability. India's adorable, welcoming smile and get it done attitude, just crushed any stress normally associated with surprise stay extensions.Heather & Stacy - These two were super powers in helping provide us with valuable concierge services and also helping our friends to extend their stay. Super friendly and always eyes up looking to be helpful.Royce - We gave Royce the moniker of TCP (The Consummate Professional). From carrying fridges, to making drinks, to being the rapid response enforcer, if someone was splashing in the pool, Royce was all over the place at all times. And always with a smile on his face.Garland, Royce, Sam, Colin, Mack, Clarissa - Most attentive, friendly, and energetic bartending staff ever. They were under the gun with bursts of many people wanting refreshments quickly. Every one of them answered the call without failure, working quickly and efficiently. They even remembered people's names and what they liked, right off the bat.Amber - What can we say about Amber that's truly worthy of how great Amber is? Amber endured a situation that would've made it tough for any human to show up for work the few days after. Not only did Amber rise to the occasion, Amber put herself aside, each and every time, for the hotel guests. Amber is a very compassionate person and that comes through in how well Amber takes care of the hotel guests. It was unexpectedly very cold one day during our stay. Although the pool was heated sufficiently, the cold wind made things miserable. Amber got a projector and created a movie night inside the lobby for the guests. Amber also personally built 2 pit fires for guests that wanted to stay outside.Ty - Last but certainly not least. We still don't know what official title Ty carries, but you'd think it could be brand new owner, the way he is always running around helping in every way possible. We noticed Ty work many 12+ hour days. Ty, like the rest of the staff, was constantly thinking of how our experience could be improved. We think Ty may be the VIP for our stay in the overall, but it's too close to call, considering how wonderful the rest of the staff was. We've always loved the cultural vibe of The Drifter. It's truly a place to just be yourself. All of the wonderful people mentioned above, made us feel like immediate family. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

It's a small hotel. You're not going here for the lush amenities. You're going for the highly social and eclectic crowd it attracts. If you want to stay somewhere that you'll leave with new friends, this may be a good place to try out.The rooms are basic, but clean. The service was wonderful; everyone was super helpful. The location isn't in the best part of town (Let's face it, much of NOLA isn't the best part of town any longer), but I felt completely safe on the hotels property at all times.Stacey is a gem of an employee here. While in the pool, I asked her to book an extra night for me. I didn't realize her shift was ending. I asked specifically for the same room I checked out of earlier that day. The room had been cleaned and the bed stripped; but there were no new towels, waters, and the bed wasn't remade.I asked Stacey to just throw the linens on the bed. I'd remake it myself and apologized for catching her when she was trying to leave. Stacey stayed late and, with a positive attitude, made sure my room was completely back ready to be used again (bed made, plenty of towels, water, more toilet paper, etc.).

Tyron, Stewart and Colin made my stay perfect! Their customer service was phenomenal! The drinks were good and strong the location is ideal. The pool is the best in the city and being an adult only hotel makes it that much better. My room was clean and had everything I needed including pool towels. Very minimalistic room being there’s not tv but still well worth the stay

Disappointed Service and Lack of Response - Beware of Unauthorized Charges!Date of Visit: July 4, 2023I recently attended a pool party at The Drifter Hotel with members of our non-profit organization and unfortunately, my experience was marred by an incident that has left me dissatisfied and frustrated. I feel compelled to share my experience with others to avoid similar situations in the future.Upon arrival, I was excited to relax and enjoy the festivities. I ordered a glass of wine from the bartender, who seemed friendly and attentive. The drink itself was fine, but I was shocked when I checked my credit card statement later and discovered an unauthorized charge of $11 instead of the $5 I had expected. It became apparent that the bartender had added an unauthorized $6 tip to my bill for a mere $5 drink. This left a sour taste in my mouth, as I had already left a cash tip at the time of purchase. It is disheartening to see such dishonest behavior from a staff member, especially in a hospitality establishment where trust and fairness should be paramount. In an effort to resolve this issue, I have made numerous attempts to contact The Drifter Hotel via phone and email over the past two weeks. Regrettably, my efforts have been met with silence. The lack of response and failure to address this matter promptly and professionally only compounds my disappointment. As a non-profit organization, every dollar counts, and it is disconcerting to see a business take advantage of its customers in this manner. I hope that management at The Drifter Hotel takes this review seriously and takes immediate action to rectify the situation. A refund for the unauthorized tip and a genuine apology for the lack of response would go a long way in restoring my trust in their establishment. While I understand that mistakes can happen, it is the responsibility of the business to promptly address and rectify.

Some of the worst rooms I've ever stayed in. Horrible bar staff. Disgusting pool.

This is more like a hostel than a hotel. We came around midnight after notifying the hotel we would be arriving late. They said we should get an email with late check in instructions. We never did. Some nice people hanging out topless by the pool let us in the gated area, where we then spent an hour trying to get in contact with someone who could get us into our room. The emergency number we had was for someone who hadn’t worked there in months. The people hanging out by the pool gave us some numbers to try and we finally got someone to come give us our key(don’t even think he worked there). When we finally got into the room one of our beds had stained linens. Overall nightmare situation. Would not stay here again.Rooms: Bedding stained
