There was literally a rat in the fudge case and she just shooed it away and kept on selling the fudge the rat stepped on.
Really good fudge! They are really nice about giving samples too!
If you’re visiting the area, make sure you stop by this fudgery — it’s one of those hidden gems that instantly makes your trip sweeter! The staff is super friendly and happy to let you sample a few flavors . The banana ice was outrageously good.
At The Fudgery on Decatur Street, the moment you walk in you’re greeted with the rich, buttery aroma of freshly made fudge and the friendliest staff around. They offer generous samples and love to show off their flavors — from creamy chocolate and praline to fun seasonal varieties. The service is upbeat and welcoming, and it’s clear they love what they do. Watching them craft and cut the fudge right in front of you is part of the fun. Perfect spot for gifts or a mid-day sugar boost while exploring the French Quarter.
Absolutely incredible experience! Best Fudgery in New Orleans goes above and beyond — not only is the fudge rich, creamy, and full of flavor, but the customer service is just as sweet. The staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely care about making sure every guest leaves happy. They offered samples, helped me pick the perfect flavors, and treated me like family from the moment I walked in. You can really feel the pride and love they put into their work. I’ll definitely be coming back (and telling everyone I know to stop by)!
Loved that they offered samples before choosing which fudge to get!
He wanted fudge, he got fudge. The only work was pleasant, making a new batch when we walked in. Allowed us to try several samples before he decided on what he wanted.
I have never in my life had more fun at an iced cream parlor. Whoever the youngman working tonight was, needs a raise. He was FANTASTIC! Singing songs, giving out samples, fantastic recommendations. We will absolutely be back again tomorrow!
The staff is wonderful they sing songs and give you plenty of wonderful information about the fudge. Definitely going to keep coming here everyday!
Alfred is so sweet, almost as sweet as the fist-sized pralines. Anywhere can sell delicious confections, but not everywhere gives you his brand of hospitality.

The food ,service, and ambiance was AMAZING!! They are all talented singers.
Love my fudge, pralines, and ice cream. They really cater to their customers here. I had a horrible day, but they were able to put a rainbow in my cloudy day.
I was looking for some yummy ice cream because Bluebell ice cream is not sold in LA.
Even if you don't like sweets,
still come visit Alfred and his
wife. Great people with Great
customer service and ultimate kindness.
Today is their anniversary. Happy anniversary to you both!!
Ice cream was not creamy whatsoever, there were literal chunks of ice in it. Not enjoyable. “Fudge” was a block of sugar, no chocolate texture or flavor.
Yummy ..! Great selection of desserts 💯
Some of the best ice cream in New Orleans. Also, the praline was excellent, and we received good information about the products from the person in the store.
It's a bit pricey, but it's location and lots of people
