As I was leaving the Gold Mine I saw a younger group and an older group discussing the Gold Mine. The older gentleman said he had been coming to the Gold Mine for 30 years and he said, “I love this place!” I think that says it all, multiple age groups and they “love” it.-

We had the BEST wedding after-party here!! Dave was so helpful and responsive the year leading up to it. He was able to accommodate our large group (about 150) well. The music was great (as always), and he even had the trumpet player from the Dirty Dozen Brass Band sing for us (there were lots of happy tears). The flaming doctor pepper shots were a hit, and everyone had SO much fun.

I've some of the negative reviews. I'd suggest giving the place a chance.

We held an event at The Gold Mine Saloon for our Salsa night and it was a fantastic experience. David was a joy to deal with throughout planning and the event was a lot of fun.

Would highly recommend going to the bar or holding an event there!

Nestled at the intersection of indelible memories and momentous history lies The Gold Mine Saloon. From the underground railroad or Jazz's inception to 10yr wedding anniversaries celebrating where they first met, Gold Mine Saloon is THE Place.. Renowned for the one and only 'Flaming Dr. Pepper' shot, every arcade game you can remember playing as a kid, and the best dj in the city, you can't miss a good time here. Always safe, always respectful, where the locals geaux.

The best bar in the quarter. Music always on point. Drinks always served quick. Vibes always electric. And flaming doctor peppers never fail to get the party started.

The Gold Mine Saloon was the first bar I hit when I got to New Orleans, and somehow it felt like the city already knew I was coming. Gold Mine’s got that easy, lived-in kind of vibe — no frills, just good people, strong drinks, and the kind of energy you can’t fake.

Bartenders were solid. Friendly, fast, not trying to be anything but themselves — which made it easy to just relax into the night. They’ve got that quiet confidence, like they’ve seen it all but still care if you’re having a good time.

Music was all over the place in the best way — hip hop, funk, throwback dance tracks, weird bangers you forgot you loved. Every song felt like it was made to keep the momentum going. No skips. The crowd was just as mixed, and it worked. People danced like they meant it, and no one was trying to be cool — they just were.

I looked up at one point and realized hours had passed. One of those nights that flows so naturally, you don’t notice the clock until last call hits and you’re not ready to leave yet.

Gold Mine’s one of those rare places that doesn’t need to try — it just is. If you know, you know. I’ll be back.

The Goldmine is always a fun and festive time! The music is great and also the drinks! The owner, David, goes out of his way to make sure everyone is having a blast! Would highly recommend! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I travel every week and have frequented some of the greatest bars in the world, but no other establishment is on par with the Gold Mine! David Brinks, the owner, is also a bartender/DJ extraordinaire like no other! His patented, infamous (and fiery) Flaming Dr. Pepper shot presentation along the bar only embellishes the already incredible experience. Great party/dance club, and always an amazing adventure! I look forward to every single visit to the Gold Mine!!!

So many of my best, late night memories are from The Gold Mine. A genuine French Qtr institution. Flaming Dr. Peppers are a ceremonial, must-do with friends. Great music, big dance floor, vintage video games, a fun time all the time.
