We've just had dinner in The Italian Barrel and had a wonderful evening. The authentic Italian food was outstanding and our server, Blake, was very lovely. But most of all, we enjoyed the unrushed atmosphere in this cosy restaurant. We highly recommend dining here!

Situated in the heart of the French Quarter, The Italian Barrel is renowned for it’s authentic italian cuisine, & definitely not one to miss. Loved by locals & tourists & all in between!
Ali was taking care of us this afternoon, & helped guide us to the right decision for our appetizers, entrees, desserts & mocktails through her expertise & thoughtfulness!
Started the lunch with a Burned & Bitten Mocktail, which contained hints of ginger & tonic; perfectly refreshing for a hot New Orleans afternoon. For our starter, I got the seasonal beet & goat cheese salad - phenomenal. For entrees, my partner got the lasagna. It’s their most popular dish for a reason! Absolutely delicious. I got the 6oz Filet & it was also terrific!
The best part was honestly dessert. This has to be the best tiramisu in the city!! It’s to die for! Especially alongside their cappuccino. My partner got the Pistachio gelato dish & it was beyond words

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Loved It! This place was amazing from start to finish! The food was absolutely delicious — every bite was full of flavor and clearly made with care. Ali was such a wonderful hostess; she made us feel so welcome and truly added to the experience. The atmosphere inside was warm and cozy, perfect for a relaxing meal. We were lucky to sit by the window and enjoy the beautiful views — it made everything even more special. Can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I were looking for something different in New Orleans. We happened upon this place by chance. We were pleasantly greeted at the door with a smile from the highly attentive and kind manager, even though we had no reservation. He immediately had a table cleared and sat us. Our waiter was also attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable with the menu. The food was delicious. I have never had garlic bread so fresh (made daily) from a restaurant. It was served piping hot from the oven. All the food came to our table literally steaming hot, a rarity at most restaurants. We had an incredible slice of lasagna. The veal meatballs were tender with great flavor. My wife claimed that the salad was one of the freshest she's ever had. The only drawback is that the spaghetti marinara was a bit salty (different sauce than the lasagna, which is sweeter). Everything was wonderful - the staff, the ambience and the food. They even have wonderful vegan options! This is one of our favorite restaurants in the French Quarter.

We visited here in 2020 and it was AMAZING! We decided to come back while here again. Service was amazing but the food was pretty subpar. The table bread and house salad were really delicious, but the entrees were lacking in the flavor we remember. We were pretty bummed when we left. Not sure I would come back, unfortunately, but maybe it was an off day. I had the lobster ravioli special... I couldn't tell there was any lobster at all.

The food and service were wonderful, the atmosphere pleasant, the noise level increased over time as the restaurant filled. It was somewhat difficult to hear in conversation for someone with hearing aids. I was very disappointed in the cocktails. They were expensive and very small.
