Make sure you do a reservation if you want to eat inside. The service was average not bad at all.
The food was GOOOOD. We got the bruschetta which was delicious.
The Brussels sprouts were okay, not my favorite as they needed some seasoning but the bacon on them was very crispy and good.
We got the mushroom truffle ravioli and the pumpkin ravioli.
The mushroom truffle was very good and savory much like an Alfredo. The pumpkin was the perfect sweetness and had a very light butter sauce perfect for a hot day.
If you like moscato get the half bottle, it was SO cold and refreshing kept in an ice bucket by the table. They also have glass bottled water.
Great location and satisfying Italian menu. I usually opt for an entree, salad, and wine. They serve bread and oil to begin, and when there is not a special I usually get a ravioli or lasagna.
The best experience, the food, the services everything was good. Pumpkin ravioli the best.
Our family ate here for Mother’s Day. Food was fantastic.
Very busy due to jazz fest weekend, and reservations encouraged. Waitstaff attentive and work well together. There are lots of hard surfaces in the building, so noise can be high. Food was delicious, our orders were veal scaloppine and chicken parmesan. Espresso creme brulee was a big hit.
We were in the mood for some old school Italian food. We found it. Ravioli and spaghetti w meatballs were both.great. We will return.
Well....the Penne Alla Vodka was very dry with very little to no crab. The filet (6 oz) was good....ATA's undercooked. The Gorgonzola sauce was good. Italian Barrel has always been a ‘go to'. But definitely going to rethink in the future.
Absolutely incredible from start to finish. The service was outstanding and the food was so perfect. The bartender is a genius with his mix and it was our favourite places to eat in New Orleans. Will forever be coming back
After a week of Cajun seafood, we needed a comfortable Italian meal. The Italian Barrel was perfect. Great service, sidewalk table. A plus was a talented, entertaining street musician across the street while we were there.
This is an outstanding restaurant tucked away on the far side of the French Quarter, away from the noise and bustle of Bourbon Street. Locals know it well. The food is simply outstanding. Everything on the menu is excellent. It is a small "corner" restaurant with only a dozen or so tables. Quiet. Friendly efficient service by the staff. You cannot go wrong here. A little on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for and what isn't these days? Check it out. You will not be sorry.

We felt welcome from the moment we arrived—greeted warmly at the door by the manager. Arriving early, we grabbed drinks at the bar, and the bartender crafted some truly delicious cocktails. We relaxed outside until our table inside was ready. Having lived in the city in the '90s and visiting at least twice a year since, I'm surprised we'd never been to this restaurant before. We came on a recommendation and glowing reviews, and it did not disappoint. From the warm welcome to the expertly made cocktails, the servers' impressive knowledge of the menu, the beautiful presentation, and the absolutely delicious food—every detail was spot on. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and everything about the experience was exceptional. Do not skip this gem. P.S. Their espresso martinis are magical—you've been warned!
Very busy (jazz fest) but waitstaff friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and fresh. Accomodated my gluten-free diet without issue. Lots of hard surfaces in the restaurant so other diner noise to be expected. Overall a very good meal with attentive staff.
Great dinner & service! We had bruschetta, chicken parm and Vodka alla Penne. My pasta was SO good and the focaccia basket was hot and delicious. Bruschetta was fresh and 3 large pieces, more than enough. Cade was very attentive and not intrusive! Kudos to the whole staff. The huge downpour outside added to the ambiance. We will be back and i highly recommend!
The Beat Italian Meal my Husband & I have experienced The Bruschetta, was amazing, our Pasta Dishes were out of this world topped off with a Pistachio Desert that was Perfection. The Atmosphere is Lovely and our Waiter Kad was awesome. We would highly recommend and will absolutely return!
Top notch food! Great service! Will go to any day of the week!
