I would give more stars for the service, while the food and atmosphere was wonderful, Jack, our server was above and beyond.
We had been in NOLA for 4 days, stopping by restaurants each day while in a convention for youth. We came in unannounced with 10 people. Jack welcomed us in, filled up our water bottles and really made us feel at home.
When the food arrived, we stopped talking as forks kept hitting the plates and our mouths. The food was down home and amazing.
Other than our youth convention, this stop was truly a highlight of our week in NOLA. Next time we are in town, will definitely be on the list, only wish we could come back here more often.

Ruby Slipper is where I realized New Orleans is full of my people! I walked here because it was the closest place to where I was staying, but after today I would drive across the city to hang out here
Tony was behind the bar and right away he got my happy hour drink order in time.... then he made my whole week with recommendations of festivals and places to hit up! This man can do no wrong in my book
My gulf shrimp omelet was cooked to perfection, my biscuit must have been homemade, and the grits are top notch
They have a nice cocktail menu, I tried the bloody Mary and the Morning Margarita - got me off to a great start to my Tuesday!

Very extensive menu at this large and airy corner cafe. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a cold beverage, the smashed burger and a peacemaker. Delicious. This place seems to be popular with the locals and I can see why.
