We ate brunch here almost every single day we were in New Orleans! The fried green tomatoes, pumpkin spice beignets, and St. Charles eggs benny were all to die for. You won't be disappointed with anything on their menu!

Arrived for breakfast. The restaurant was not busy with 7 tables. Ordered right away after being seated and the food arrived 20 minutes later. The pancakes were fine. It would be nice if you could order and pay for real maple syrup instead of the table syrup. The pork sausages were very disappointing. Deep fried beyond belief. Very Dry and way over cooked. As a result of being deep fried too long. As a suggestion, if you are going to deep fry the pork sausages to speed up the preparation time insteadnof cooking them on the grill, maybe try pre blanching them in hot water or a steamer. That way you are just finishing the cooking and giving them a little color in the deep fryer. At least they will still be moist and tasty, instead of the cremated pork link I was served.

The food has 0 seasonings. Not what we expected being in New Orleans

One hour and a half to receive two pieces of bacon and scrumbled eggs. The place was not even full. Hire some cooks or smt.

UPDATE: 3 years later and still short staffed. Waited about 30 min for a table, bar was not open, looked like 3 servers working and they were busting their buns helping people. Waiting another 15 min to get our orders in, then about 20 min for our food. Food good but I felt bad for staff, they were definitely overwhelmed.

I would have totally given them 5 ☆s however considering it was a popular day, Saturday mid-day on a holiday (Halloween weekend) I would have thought there would have been more staff working behind the bar. There was one girl serving and another making drinks. It took her about 10 minutes just to get me a menu, I had to ask for silverware and water. I think I was there for over an hour....

Food was bomb though. I got the bennies, eggs cochon and im not a Benedict person but the fresh biscuit was warm and yummy, sauce flavorful and meat was perfect!

Food was good. But service was at a snails pace. We reserved for 11:15 am that turned into 11:55 am and then we were seated maybe at 12. The wait for food was well over an hour. They ran out of things without telling us. We watched to other tables struggle just to get checked out. It just wasn't a good brunch day. We've been here before and service was totally on point at the bar. I think we finally wrapped up by 1:15.

Boooo ruby slippers! What a terrible experience this past Sunday! I have been a few times and it’s sometimes hit or miss but this was a huge miss. Waitress was rude - my husband spilt creamer and she just looked at him and was so slow getting napkins - we had to get up ourselves and get more- took 20 minutes for a latte with whip cream already deflated and curdled looking - I understand waiting when it’s busy but after waiting an hour for food and have to ask the waitress about the food to be told - “other people have been waiting longer” was just an unpleasant experience. An hour wait and she tells us the order isn’t even in is when we paid the coffee bill and left. We won’t be going back- parked 10:50 am left 12:30 pm. 2 tables got their food even though we put our order in before they were seated. Would have complained to management but we were too hungry and aggravated to wait any longer.

The Ruby Slipper Café Uptown was an absolute delight! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming — the perfect spot for a relaxing New Orleans breakfast or brunch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything came out just right.

The cinnamon pancakes were truly incredible — fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly sweet with just the right touch of spice. Easily some of the best pancakes I’ve ever had! You can tell they put real care into every dish.

Everything about this spot feels genuine — from the Southern hospitality to the creative, comforting menu. If you’re in the Uptown area and looking for a delicious breakfast, The Ruby Slipper is a must-try. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town!

I have had shrimp and grits and biscuits throughout the south and am frequently disappointed, but the Ruby Slipper delivered in spades. Not only was the food amazingly delicious, but the service was also amazing! Our server, Claire, was friendly and attentive, but not overly so, and even comped our app since it was my birthday! And, our first choice was sold out. Shrimp were perfectly cooked in both the omelet and the grits. Both were full of flavor along with the loaded tots!! I wanted to lick my bowl clean! The biscuits were clearly homemade, butter and fluffy. Reminded me of my mom’s. Served with a cane sugar butter that added a little sweetness that paired perfectly with the buttery biscuits! 💯 recommend that you check them out! Drinks were perfect as well! Recommend the mimosas and morning margarita! #mynameiskyle #kyleintheblueshirt
