Perfect French Quarter bar! Highly recommend visiting the Upper Quarter for Saints games, before & after shows at the Saenger Theatre or anytime you want a local experience away from Bourbon Street. Super affordable drinks, fun pop-ups and great staff!

Great local dive. Bartender Jason was playing great tunes and serving good drinks along with conversation. Highly recommend.

This little hole in the wall is great. Awesome place full of locals and tourists. When we stayed at the hotel next door this was our go to watering hole. Friendly staff, great drinks and even better people. Don’t miss the pop up food vendors either. Some of the best tacos I’ve had. Always felt welcome and always left happy and libated

We were in New Orleans for a bachelor party weekend and topped it off with a visit to The Upper Quarter. Jason was super welcoming and a great host. It’s a great spot to wind down at the end of the evening.

Husband and I have been going there since 2010 off and on or nightly, I went in on another run into the quarter and needed the bathroom, I was told I needed to be a customer I'm 67 why would I lie about being a regular customer, so stuck paying 2.50 to go for a glass full of ice and very little soda. YUK! Never spending another dime there and I was going to rent the back area for my husband's 60th birthday party.

I’m writing this review to address a troubling experience that occurred last night involving one of your bartenders, whom I believe is named Jason. This incident happened to my fiancé, but I feel compelled to speak up as someone who frequents this bar regularly. I work nearby and often end my nights here, occasionally joined by my fiancé who either walks me to my car or picks me up. We typically stop in for a drink to unwind before heading home. Grace usually takes care of us and has always been kind and welcoming, but unfortunately, she wasn’t working last night.

When my fiancé arrived, he let Jason know he needed to use the restroom before ordering. Upon returning to the bar, Jason abruptly and rudely asked, “Who are you?” My fiancé responded with his name and explained that he was a customer. Jason replied, “You’re not a customer. Get out.” Shocked and confused, my fiancé left the bar and explained the situation to other friends standing outside. I arrived shortly after to find him upset and trying to make sense of what had just happened.

As a regular, I’m extremely disappointed that my fiancé—a Latino man—was treated with such hostility and suspicion simply for using the restroom before placing an order. Even if we weren’t regulars, no one deserves to be spoken to or dismissed that way. It’s upsetting to see this kind of behavior in a place we once felt comfortable and welcomed. Given the current climate and ongoing conversations around inclusivity and respect, I sincerely hope this issue is taken seriously. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

This is a great bar in the french quarter where you can mingle with the locals and save some money! The owners are awesome people that welcomed us in and we felt as part of a family. And the Saints football games! super fun!!!! we stop there every time we are in town, one of our favorite bars this side of the mississippi. They do not have a kitchen, but when we were there they had locals bringing dishes to share, and that was amazing.

Walked into bar, went to the bathroom went to order drinks, their was four of us in my group, bartender (bald head glasses) asked if we were just going to order two drinks when we had a group of four, got mad and kicked us out for no reason. Btw we were going to order four drinks. We WILL not be back. He was irritated we were there. Clearly didn’t like his job. Everywhere else was FANTASTIC in Nola. I have never been kicked out of a bar. First time for everything I guess lol

Edit: I’d like to add after owners response, it was not a threat, he said he wished he could break it on his head after he told us to get out for NOT ordering 4 drinks at one time. Just wish he would have been honest to you about the situation is all. Plenty of other witnesses. Thank you for responding. :)

UQ became our March Madness hub during our stay in New Orleans. Friendly staff and customers made us feel super welcome, especially cheering on the women with us.
