Stopped by The Upper Quarter with a group of friends while visiting in October and had a great experience thanks to Jason. He was friendly and welcoming and made the bar feel comfortable right away. Even as a tourist, I felt right at home. Easy to see why service workers love this place! We would definitely visit again if we had the chance.

Rude!!!! Out of the 800 bars in the quarter this bartender chase us out the bar and told us we had to pay something to use the restroom. We asked 4 people standing outside the bar who we thought were the bartenders if we could use the restroom they said yes. As we exited the walked half way down the street the real bar tender chased us down and said “you need to give me something you just used my bathroom!!!” I told him we asked the people on the street who we thought was the bartenders and they told us yes he said well I was bending down so u need to give me something for using my bathroom. No bathroom is free in the quarters. Butttt everyone we used everyone gladly said yes. Cool bar wouldn’t go back tho

I like this bar and often stop by after work late night. Unfortunately the new day time lady bartender is rude for no reason. I walked in, bought two well drinks, tipped her on each drink. I asked if the patio was open since they have been having noise complaints with the neighbors and knew to ask. I was told no, not allowed to sit on the patio. All good, went out front and walked back inside to grab some water for my dogs and was told it would be a dollar? I would never charge a paying/tipping customer for water at my bar. I finished my drink and went to the restroom to fill it up with water for my puppy and saw a group of customers sitting outside on the patio. It seems she just really didn't like the looks of me? Not sure what her problem is, but that lady is not a friend of quarter workers and should be avoided. Guess she used to work at toulouse.

Bartender with short blond hair at 9:00 pm i walked in to the establishment and i experienced a racist encounter with your bartender, she didn't want to serve me. First time I asked if something was in stock she gave a nasty attitude and i couldnt hear her i asked her to repeat what she said again she rolled her eyes and ignored me and kept bartending continually i even said thank you and she still ignored. She paid me dust. I walked out. after she gave an bad attitude and others were around. New lady needed in the front if this company can't hire employees with good attitudes. Bartender could've just said we don't service blacks. Don't know her name i Will make sure this doesn't happen again. October 22, 2025 9:00pm

Consistently visited upper quarter for the past year. We visited the other night for our usual, 2 shots and 2 beers. Only got around to ordering the shots before the large bald bartender with glasses analyzed our IDs several minutes, even pulling out a flashlight. No biggie, we are of age to drink just as we have been the several times before in UQ when we were ID’ed. We were handed back our IDs and my fiancé tried to order our 2 beers and the bartender snapped back at him to “order everything at once”. I get it, busy night, one bartender, several patrons, so on and so forth. None of those are reasons to be treated poorly. Left after the 2 shots and won’t be back.
