Good fried chicken, great service, and a BAR. The chicken doesn’t have a heavy batter, and comes either spicy or mild. I tried the spicy - which was good, but not amazing. (Next time I try the original.) The pieces were well-cooked and juicy; the sizes were nice, and the red beans were FANTASTIC. The prices were very fair, competitive with other chicken places. They have other items on the menu - I can’t review them because I’ve never had them, but it was a surprisingly wide selection. The atmosphere - I came in between lunch and dinner, so it was fairly empty. They play blues music (not too loud), and have comfortable seating with a lot of red neon inside. It’s cheery inside (see photos). The bar is at the center of the dining area, and has a modest selection of liquors, beer, and one or two daiquiri machines. Great for nailing a mild buzz while enjoying your food. The service - well, I was there when it was fairly empty, but they were very friendly, prompt, and courteous - can’t ask for more than that!I will come back for the regular bone-in chicken, and try other things in the future. I’ll update the review when I do. Overall, I’m impressed! This is not really a chain - just this location in Lakeview and one across the lake somewhere. They may want to try one in Metairie, move in on Gus’ territory…

The wait was crazy, the food was not worth it. The smoked chicken was bland whereas the fried chicken was too salty. First and last time eating here.

Second time dining and found the chicken overcooked and an o-ring still had onion skin on it.

The only thing was maybe tastee was the chicken and that's because we was hungry. The gumbo red beans and so called roll I wouldn't feed to a dog. Horrible all around even the fountain drinks.. Would not recommend this place..

Chicken is very flavorful… and the staff was great, we arrived about 20 minutes to closing time and they welcomed us and treated us as if it was 5pm …. We appreciated that from them… they had wonderful attitudes and it made us feel like our business was

Ordered delivery. COLD AS ICE when delivered. Not even luke warm. Freaking COLD! The chicken and onion rings. Could have just burned $30 and got something warm lol. What a shame.

They use dark meat for their chicken sandwiches. Just the look of it when you bite into it is so nasty, with chunks of chicken instead of one solid piece like you would get with eating white breast meat. This place is not good, don’t bother even trying it.

Loved the spicy chicken. It was fresh out the grease and juicy. The service and price points was also great. I am giving 4 stars due to single service items (forks and straws) not being individually wrapped. Creeps me out knowing that someone who may not care about hygiene may touch items I am putting in my mouth. If it were not for the aforementioned, I would have given 5 stars.

I ordered 4 chicken sandwiches and I was assuming that they duplicates to the sandwiches I had at the Fried Chicken Festival. But to my surprise, the employee stated that they were using chicken thighs instead of chicken breast. I thought it would be good but I was disappointed. The bread is different also. Thanks for fooling me and I won't be buying anymore.

The chicken was so bland. The gumbo tasted like beef?! stock. Inside has sad-divorced-dad-bar vibes. Entirely self serve and bus and hit up for a tip?! Pay your ppl with the spice money you're saving.

Chicken is good and you get a lot. I got the 3 tender meal. Onion rings are also very good. I remember going after they first opened and there was ranch available with the ketchup and house sauce, but there isn’t anymore. I was excited to try the Mac n cheese because I thought it looked really good with the fried pieces of chicken batter on top, but without that it’s just basically buttered noodles. I’d go back for the chicken, onion rings, and fries though.

Avoid this place like the plague! Overpriced with no flavor. Go to mchardys or chubbies if you want chicken.
