Clean venue bathrooms super clean staff very friendly it's really dark and sexy vibe great experience! We went to the Jazz Bounce with the DJ Cole make you feel it in your soul event!! Had a blast!! 10/10
They have a truly legendary open mic night. The comedians are tortured by a panel which gives them difficult tasks to perform while they deliver their sets. Their stage manager, Joe, pops in between sets and is half the fun. It was a real mix of really good and really unique comedians. There was the guy with a bag with a smaller bag and a pair of sunglasses, hilarious. Annie Gaia was there and totally rocked it with a truly epic parody song about dinosaurs and mermaids (really!!) that was 100% unforgettable.
Last time I stepped into this building it was the famed One Eye Jacks. So to try to picture this venue as something else was hard to do. But having it now as a theater is actually really cool. The open mic was hell is a very cool local comedian night, where they have the comics give their standup with a twist, which is chosen by the panel. They had a awesome DJ as well, and the acoustics in the building are fantastic. It's still a stunning building with a really cool bar as you walk in the door. I'd love to check out more events at the Toulouse theater, definitely a cool spot
Great time!
Love the comedy shows here....
My first trip here was awesome. I'm hooked!
Was overpriced for up and comers and wasn’t a funny show, half hour late to start and they tried hard to be like kill Tony but wasn’t that great.
Very Nice Spacious Venue
Excellent venue for music and shows. The vintage decor really adds character. The bar had an excellent selection of themed cocktails. There was plenty of seating available with views of the stage.
This is honestly one of the best bar and venues in New Orleans alrhe management and staff are great, you'll not be disappointed if you go here.

The attached Preservation Hall show brochure specifically recommends you stop by the Toulouse Theatre’s lobby bar for a drink after the show, so I was surprised the bartender was so salty and uninviting when we did just that. There was a ticketed comedy show already taking place in the main room but the lobby bar was open and not part of that. After getting a drink, the bartender was condescending and asked why we were still there since you can take it anywhere in New Orleans. It’s not as though we were belligerently disrupting the comedy show - behavior which I’m familiar with and agree would warrant his response. The show itself was in another room so it’s not like we were trying to freeload. I can’t speak to the venue itself but this level of hostility unexpected and out of character with from the rest of my experience while visiting. Curious why Preservation Hall suggests people go here if only to be berated.
Was recommended this place as a good spot to grab a drink in the lobby after a show at Preservation Hall, but both the bartender and lobby staff were surprisingly rude. The atmosphere looked nice, but the attitude made it an unpleasant experience. Definitely not the welcoming New Orleans vibe I expected.
Great setup, nice small intimate theatre
Saw Ani Difranco. Best night ever!
We wandered in one night as we were visiting New Orleans and are theater people, we didnt get a chance to see a show but just hung out at the bar and had an amazing time, we quickly realized that this was our kind of place and became regulars while we were here, the drinks are good the beer is cold and the bartender is amazing, super kind and friendly! We regret that its time to head home to Maine, We cannot wait to come back in June and visit again. Come in for the laid back vibe and the friendly service!
