Stayed in Bywater two different times and kept coming back to Vaughns each night. Very relaxed and inviting vibe.
Great local bar to hang out and enjoy a drink. Good music, live band. Sidewalk seating. Friendly people.
One of my favorite neighborhood bars with really cool people.
what a place :)
Good space for dancing, Good bands. Has a cover. Several other bars walkable if you want to bar hop.
Vaughn's.. i hate to say good things about it because it might get too crowded. Klezmer Allstars are not to be missed there..
Chill neighborhood spot populated by good people. Thursday nights often have great local musicians playing. And usually some soul food on the street outside.

Real deal New Orleans bar. Saw the Treme Funktet getting down and dirty in this great little space.
We had such a fun, laid back time at this lounge. You could tell the patrons were like family to each other and we were warmly welcomed. Had a great hour or so watching the Saints vs. Chiefs game. Definitely a good stop if you want to experience the pride and love of the NOLA community.

I’ve been to Vaughn’s a few times as I live down the block but last time I went was disappointing and disrespectful. A lady came up to us after being in there for a few minutes saying gibberish so we just smiled at her and hope she didn’t say anything important. Then when she couldn’t get her point across she started jumping in front of us and basically using her body as a shield between us and the live band that was playing (?).
The music was so loud nobody could hear a word she was saying. There must have been no better form of communication but eventually we realized she was pointing at our beers and after telling her I didn’t even want my drink and I would buy one she became aggressive very quickly and didn’t even give us time to react before having someone throw us out. Clownish behavior, but we were willing to compromise until people started getting aggressive for no reason.
As in most New Orleans bars outside drinks are not an issue, the mouthing of rules and the ridiculous gestures were non-intuitive. The lady looked like she was just being rude for no reason. Then, we got kicked out by another man who got up in our faces outside (unnecessarily rude and threatening). Being kicked out of your own neighborhood bar for no reason is very disappointing, so I wish the best to the owners for doing things like this to regular sober people who were not looking to cause issues. Maybe to make this EASIER on the communication part, put a sign and maybe point to it? Offering advice because that did NOT need to happen. Just terrible energy from this place so won’t be returning any time soon. I wasn’t even drinking much before so it was not a comprehension issue on my end. It was just too loud to make this point clearly and they should have recognized that.

A God Damn National Treasure. Spent my wedding night here. Watched the Saints win the Superbowl here. No matter where I live this will always be my neighborhood bar. Do you sometimes wanna go where everybody knows your name? These people are family.
