Very disappointed!! The pricing has really increased more than most breakfast places and to add insult to injury they are automatically adding a 3% charge for the kitchen staff. That is on top of a $16 dollar sandwich. Breakfast for one should not cost almost $30 for 1 person. I realize everything has gone up but this is just ridiculous. It would be different if the food or service were exceptional but it is not. Will be going to one of the more reasonably priced breakfast places.

Small menu. In fact, I think there's less than a dozen breakfast entrees from which to choose. It's fairly standard breakfast fare with a couple of standout unique items. Service was good. Nothing especially noteworthy. They're only open 4 days per week.

Food and service was great. Meal was made fresh and with good flavors. Coffee was decent. Servers were attentive and kind.

This place is a hidden gem! Out of towners wanting to try something close to the hotel. Friendly staff, great food. I got the shrimp etufee and grits. It came with eggs and toast. A great meal! We were in and out at 8 am on a Sunday morning.

I wasn't feeling to well when I came in, so all I had were grits and orange juice. The grits were good. However, we asked for them to be brought out early and it took about 30 minutes for the grits that were already premade in a large container (you can see the kitchen in the dining room). It took about 10 minutes for us to even get our water. The service overall was lacking. For as many servers as they have, I expected more.My fiance got The Superbowl, and it was good but not worth the 45 minute wait. Also, they definitely need to clean and fix up their bathroom. The toilet seat was broken and it would have slipped off if I wasn't holding it down.If you care about good service, fast service, and a clean restaurant, go elsewhere. Otherwise, the food is good at the least.

Wow, just wow. This friendly, relaxed diner serves incredible flavors! My friends and I visited twice during our visit to NOLA. We enjoyed everything we ordered: OG Bowl, SuperBowl (vegan) and Heart Healthy Omelette. The chefs have mastered the textures and flavors of the cajun smashed hash, grits, the chili lemongrass tofu, and the creamy seasoned black beans. The sourdough is perfect. They use a special blend of French Truck coffee and I didn’t need cream or sugar. The servers are friendly and enthusiastic. I hope to return!

The food was so delicious..loved the tofu momma bowl. The hash (smashed, crispy potatoes) was outstanding. Incredibly friendly staff. Can't miss this breakfast spot.

Great brunch spot, they open earlier than most, and the quality and price is great.Had been here once with my sister from out of town back in 2019 and thought Biscuits on Banks was better, but since the pandemic both restaurants redid their menus and I think Wakin Bakin is probably the best breakfast spot uptown. The service is always timely and the workers seem happy to be there. The hardest part is choosing what to eat because all the options are good.It does have a relatively small interior, though there is plenty of outdoor seating, but that means in inclement weather you may have to wait for a table. If you are bringing a large party they may have trouble accommodating, most interior tables are setup to accommodate 2-4 people, the outside picnic tables could easily fit 6.

Not sure if we just came at a bad time, but the bowls were practically just beans. For 15 bucks per person. I'd love to try it again, we had amazing coffees and mimosas and a great server.Vegetarian options: I got the mama's tofu bowl. Unfortunately it was underwhelming. Needs some modification

Easy like Sunday morning! We had a delicious stress free breakfast! Service was great. Staff were happy and welcoming. A lot of breakfast places have ridiculous waits but we were able to get seated right away. Going back today and Wakin is our new go-to for breakfast or brunch! Get the voodoo brew.

We walked in for some breakfast after a night out, and our party of five was sat in short order. Service was good for the most part and bloody Mary was good, but our food was served very far apart (i.e. two dishes were brought out and then waited more than ten minutes for another two, and then more time before the final dish). Additionally my sandwich with hash potatoes on the side was served completely cold, fully at room temperature. The potatoes came out hot and were delicious, but it's clear that while they were working on potatoes the toasted sandwich with wilted spinach and eggs on it was left to get cold, and there was no method employed to keep it warm. This was completely unacceptable as the sandwich was not inexpensive and it is a breakfast establishment, where cooking times should be well known and serving food hot is vitally important. I took one bite of the sandwich and that was it, the cold wilted spinach was disgusting. I could have asked for them to microwave it or something or brought it home but with toast, eggs, and wilted spinach on the sandwich it was unsalvageable. I have to give at least two stars for our friendly waitress and the bloody Mary and potatoes but the mishandling of the sandwich was unforgivable.

I came in on a slow Thursday morning with my toddler and the staff was so accommodating and gave us amazing service. We ordered the pancake breakfast and it was a lot of food. The pancakes were very fluffy. I also ordered a side of grits and a fruit cup. The grits were so good and creamy, the fruit was very fresh. They didn't take long at all, we'll definitely be back when we're in the neighborhood.

We got there at 1:00. At 1:1, the waitress came and told us she couldn't take our order because the kitchen was backed up. It was going to be 10 minutes to order and 25 minutes more for them to clear the orders they had. We were debating whether to stay when the table next to us had their order taken! Then we paid for the juice that our kids ordered. Those were SIX dollars each...for 2 kids' juices. When I told her we knew the other table got their order accepted, she was unapologetic. We will never go back.

All around pleasant experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was pretty good. I'm not much of a breakfast person, but this was good breakfast.
