Many a time I have wandered into the Lavin-Bernick Center in search of a tasty treat that will satisfy my craving for excellence, but only today did I find what I have yearned so eagerly for. When a mysterious man in a trench coat whispered to me the secrets of the hidden menu, I rushed to Wow and asked for one simple item: the Jackson Cushing special. Although the workers were resistant to serve me, they finally caved when I leapt over the counter and begged on my knees. As soon as I was done with this meticulously and gracefully cooked fish dish, I wept, for I know that nothing in life will ever come close to the absolute pleasure this cuisine brought me. I strongly recommend every reader to pursue this euphoria that has changed me forever.

I originally came asking for the cheesecake sandwich but they were all out which I thought was a little disturbing given the “situation” The waiter recommend the Jackson Cushing Special instead citing that it was easy to make and the store was about to close. He said he wasn’t suppose to tell me about it but that if I said Jackson Cushing special five times he had to make it. I went ahead and said it 5 times as he face lit up. Right when I got to the 5th special he got write to work. It took nearly 3 hours and almost the entire kitchen staff to cook. They were even calling in workers to work overtime. Finally I got my sandwich and it came out to $9.50 but I decided to pay in monthly installments using Klarna as I spent all my money renting The Sting pt 2 while waiting for my food. It is a fish tartar sandwich with the works on a lightly toasted brioche bun with some sort of secret ingredient mixed into the tartar sauce which added a kick but was a little salty. I have to say it was pretty darn good. 10/10. Best fish sandwich I’ve found so far in the NOLA metroplex. Worth the drive if your coming from a far place like River Ridge or Avondale.

I had heard rumors of the delicious 😩 jackson cushing special on the secret menu at wow, but I had never had the opportunity to consume it myself until today. The staff insisted they didn't sell it, but I knew they were lying... I had come prepared, and knew I had to take measures into my own hands. When the workers weren't looking, I broke into the back of their restaraunt and held their live chickens hostage until they brought me out my grilled fish, which they prepared extra fast for me. And when I tell you that it was the most exquisite grilled fish I have ever consumed, I AM NOT LYING. As I bit into the juicy, voluminous, sexy fish, I felt my pupils expand and my sweat glands open up as my eyes rolled to the back of my head. I fed some to my girlfriend too(photo of her attached), and she loved it so much she doesn't know if she can ever eat grilled fish anywhere else! Would recommend 10/10

All I can say… is Wow.
If you ever find yourself down in New Orleans craving a true taste of the northeast Atlantic, this hole in the wall joint serves a darn good grilled fish that will really knock your socks off. The second your fork breaches the tender meat that truly just falls off the bone, you know that you’re in for a treat. Pairing this high-quality, white seafood with beautifully sautéed peppers creates a the feel of a family-owned lobster roll shop located right off the beach. While an on the go grilled fish can be hard to come by, this aquatic dish needs to be added to all seafood lover’s bucket lists.
I recently visited wow cafe for the first time ever. The menu didn’t strike me, I saw a lot of chicken and beef items and I just was not craving those meats at the time. Then I got word of a “secret menu” and I heard utters of a grilled fish item. This peak my interest, what would be better then a nice grilled fish on a Tuesday afternoon on Tulane’s campus. I went to the workers and requested this exciting specials. The workers with a lot of attitude insisted this mystery item did not exist. However, I begged for 20 minutes even shedding a tear, then finally they agreed. The fish was perfect, the fish melted on my tongue, and the test sent me into another dimension. It was my favorite dining experience ever. If you can ever get your hands on the grilled fish I highly recommend. But be aware the service is REALLY bad and you will need to cry to receive the fish.

I origionally wanted a cheeseburger but they somehow ran out of buns and pepper for the patty so I decided to settle for some fish. The worker recommended the Jackson Cushing special so without a doubt I ordered it. It was a lovely grilled fillet with enough tartar to last a lifetime.mm صّبُلُلصّبُررً ॣ ॣh ॣ ॣ

The whole grilled fish is spectacular! It’s not on the official menu that they show on the board but you just have to ask for the Jackson Cushing Special. They got it from the back and cooked it up for me real fast. Supplies are limited so make sure to come first thing after 5pm when they restock on Saturdays. The skin is crispy and the inside is sweet and buttery. Highly recommend to not miss out on this hidden gem!

The food here is good, it is also fresh and hot. I don’t know if the patties are frozen, but it taste good. The portions are not too bad, it’s on the smaller side. I didn’t get to eat my food until about 10 minutes after it was made. It still was very hot and the fries were still crunchy. The pricing wasnt bad, it was about $15 tip included. The combo also came with a small drink. The line was very long, but they were getting orders out quickly, I would return!
This chicken is dust
The place has decent food at a reasonable price. The JBR and grilled chicken sandwich are pretty good. The place gets really busy around noon on most weekdays and it can take anywhere around 15 to 20 minutes to get the order unless it gets mixed up with other orders.

Great food that was served to my son more than 5 minutes before anyone else. My husband was served more than 10 minutes in later. Nothing like not being able to enjoy your meal together for fear that yours is going to go cold before they get theirs.
