Personally I love Z’otz. If you are not familiar with New Orleans, the city is a bit like Amsterdam. There is a taste of everything here from formal/conservative to informal/unconservative. Z’otz is pretty far out on the latter end. The decor embodies a quirky humor, slightly morbid, very ‘alternative’. Patrons are mostly quiet studying types the half dozen or so visits I’ve made. Music is very varied, and you might discover something new. Coffee and treats are...
Z’otz is the most down-to-earth, unpretentious, artsy, gothy, bohemian little cafe in New Orleans. Authentically eclectic and weird, it’s been a gathering place for university students, local goths, punks, nerds, artists and good weirdos of all sorts for decades now. The coffee bar is solid and the pastries are reliably yummy, but let’s be honest - you come to Z’otz because you’re a Z’otz kind of person and it’s a safe, cozy place for people like you. Couldn’t...
I've been a regular at Zotz for more years than I can count and I've never had a bad experience. The staff and the environment are the best in NOLA, their coffee is great, and its one of the only cafés you can frequent late at night. They care about their customers (if you have a spine) and you can always find someone to strike up a conversation with on the back patio. If you're looking for community and coffee, go here!
