I'm giving them 3 stars to not totally ding them. I didn't try the food. But don't go here if you're from out of town. Waited at the bar for 10 minutes, bartender would not look my direction. Tried to wave to no avail. Could have screamed I guess. That would have been awkward. So I just left. Note to this place, try to have servers be more observant of who walks into your restaurant. I was eager to try some good looking food

Toby’s Lounge is a classy yet comfortable jewel in downtown Opelousas. The staff treat you like family whether it’s Hily ensuring the food is cooked to perfection, Michelle mixing up your favorite beverages from the bar with a special pride in her craft, or Wayne making you feel welcome with a joke or a big, warm hug! I ALWAYS ENJOY TOBY’s!!!

Showed up for dinner and we were pointed not lead to a table and the table and chairs were covered with food. We promptly left.

Drove here to support a local band, 10$ cover per human. The place was packed on a Saturday night.
Our server was hardworking and kind, kitchen however was extremely slow and kept screwing up. It's not her fault, nor did her tip suffer for it. Would definitely visit again.

Toby's Downtown Restaurant in Opelousas is a culinary gem that attracts food enthusiasts from near and far, including the gastronomic hub of New Orleans. This establishment showcases the hidden culinary royalty of Opelousas, which is the parish seat of St Landry Parish, alongside notable spots like Java Cafe, Arpeggios, and the legendary café, Back in Time, with its award-winning specialties.

These dining destinations collectively underscore why Opelousas, much like many towns in Acadiana, stands out in the culinary landscape of Louisiana.

Toby's Downtown boasts fantastic and always FRESH food, served in a clean and character-filled setting. Among its many delights, Toby's offers the best stuffed baked potatoes in all of Louisiana. In my humble opinion, they rival, if not surpass, the beloved stuffed potatoes at New Orleans' renowned Port of Call on Esplanade. As a devoted fan of Port of Call, I find Toby's stuffed potatoes a testament to the exceptional culinary talent rooted in St. Landry Parish—home to Louisiana's arguably most famous chef, the late Paul Prudhomme.

Discover the hidden treasures of Opelousas' culinary scene, where Toby's and its peers elevate the local dining experience to new heights, making it a must-visit destination for food lovers across the region. Be sure to check out their fabulous Sunday brunch!

I went to Toby’s for the first time hoping that I can have a filling meal that tastes alright. I left there in amazement of the portions and the quality of the food as well as the service. I live an hour away and will be more than happy to eat there anytime.

We love Toby's brunch buffet. Not a lot of vegetable offerings but delicious food. I'm honestly not eating a lot of vegetables anyway when they're offering seafood dishes and cheesy potatoes, rice and gravy, etc. with all the breakfast offerings as well. I definitely don't leave hungry.
