hipster mexican restaurant, salsa is very good. the staff can't sing a note. the meat in the nachos was over cooked, way to much seasoning on meat. shredded lettuce with diced tomatoes, a spoon full of sour cream isn't nachos. not impressed with my choice in food.

The food wasn’t “ bad “ but it wasn’t good. Very bland. Not flavorful, no hot sauce options. We did ask for hot salsa and were brought actual like warmed up salsa.. which was really funny because we weren’t expecting it. There is no heat in the food here. As in spice. The tortilla soup was broth, tortillas, avocado, and cheese. We dumped the hot salsa in and it helped. Environment is SUPER cute and nice!! Our server was very sweet and did a great job.

Absolutely loved this place. I can’t remember his name but he was an amazing server, actually cared to talk to my fiance, my kid and I. He even talked to us about my job and Virginia while waiting on other tables in a timely manner. The drinks were amazing, i thought they were strong which was nice. The food was really good the steak fajitas were delicious. If i ever go back to Louisiana i will for sure be going back there!

Sat there and waited on the rest of my party to get there for maybe 10 minutes when they got there we ordered out food and they ordered their drinks and it took them 40 minutes for our food to get out of the kitchen which caused me to be late for work. When I had asked When will the food come out because I need to get back to work they then told me that my ticket was up next, And Then asked, but didn’t you have to wait on your party to get here in order to order y’all’s food I said regardless it’s been over 30 minutes and we’ve been waiting on the food to come out. The blonde head lady I’m guessing she’s the manager really needs to learn how to do better customer service because she Was just rude and quite frankly seem like she didn’t care about her customers or customers that were in my group. I didn’t eat lunch and paid for someone else’s ticket which I didn’t realize until I got home to look at my receipt. So thank you so much you arrogant, rude woman for allowing your server to not do as a good job as he should’ve and thank you for allowing such poor action be allowed at this establishment! Never will return again!

this chips situation for to go orders is absolutely ridiculous. Last weekend we went through same issue and I called and spoke with a nice manager who handled it and explained it to me. though I didn't agree with all of it, it at least was clear. we had 2 meals, an appetizer, a large queso and paid for a large salsa and the whole thing came with 2 bags of chips. we asked for more and explained a meal alone comes with free chips and salsa so why paybfor a large for the same amount. she said the large salsa specifically comes with 2 and then the meals 1 and then the large quest whether small or large comes with 1. so I decided I wouldn't get a large questo again because that doesn't make sense. (again whether i agree or not it was made clear). Well tonight we were told something different again. This time though the manager was not pleasant (julie). We had to pay for extra chips for 2 meals, an appetizer, large salsa and small queso. we explained what we were told previously and her only comment wad which manager told you that because we just don't fo that and that's just how it is. so basically if you want extra chips just simply order your meals separately. then call and order an appetizer separately and don't waste 5 extra dollars on a large verse a small because you're going to run out because you get the same amount of chips. or just go inside and have unlimited chips. next week time (If there ever is one) I'll make sure to bring my 10 week old in just for Julie. You're welcome.
And last time I tipped 10 dollars to then have to buy chips. clearly everyone needs to get on the same page and now it will be zero dollars going there period.
I can say I will not be going back to La caretta in ponchatoula! The manager/co owner is completely heartless! My 5 year old dropped her whole bowl of small cheese dip on the ground and none of it spilled because of how hard it was, but I asked for a replacement and she told me “I can ring you up for another one, I mean what do you want me to do?” As my 5 year old cried for her cheese dip, when she put her chip in it it was hard and it fell on the ground and had dirt all over it so of course she couldn’t eat it after that.
Cannot believe I was told “I can charge you for another one” and she was that heartless to replace it and I even asked for a smaller portion to take home for my daughter. PLUM RIDICULOUS! La Carreta Downtown Ponchatoula
