I have has shrimp stew from lake Charles to Morgan city. From Chalmette to Shreveport. You won't find better than at Pirogues Cafe. I was going to go home and cook it today and decided to order from here since I had the baked chicken and dirty rice yesterday... I'm so very happy that I did. Wow. Its better than mine.. Great flavor. Perfect thickness. Lots of shrimp.. And the potato salad. Wow! I can't wait to try the lasagna and other stuff. <3 great staff. Cozy atmosphere.

In my opinion the BEST shrimp po-boys around! We always try to visit every time we come in town. The only downside for us is that they are not open on Saturdays! We are making a quick trip home and we are going to miss out this time!

We had just got into town and my wife needed her red beans and rice fix and this place was recommended to us. Nice small private little place which we like but to expensive for food that comes in a to go container and self service. Especially when BAD. The red beans and rice was decent but not one I would go out of my way for. I had the crab poboy which was good for 2 crab cakes in between some bread. Then the Coleslaw was very rancid to the point I spit mine out and took it off my sons plate and wiped the juice out with a napkin so there was no chance of him getting any. Shortly after that I went to refill my drink and in plain sight is the almost empty plastic tub of coleslaw just sitting on the counter in the kitchen wide open with no one around it. I will not go back to this place nor would I recommend it due to their food handling practices!!
