“Stopped in on our way out of new Orleans and absolutely loved it. A cute little family owned hole in a wall place. Little disappointed there was no gumbo or seafood, but the food we got was definitely delicious. Kicking chicken definitely had a kick. And the red beans and rice was really good. Really reasonably priced as well.”
“Lunch was half a fried shrimp poboy with some gumbo. The sandwich was good as was the gumbo. Friendly staff. Interesting local place worth grabbing lunch at if you are in the area.”
“My biggest thank you goes out to airborne for supporting my husband, helping us with a benefit to raise money for his radiation treatments! He's going to be a survivor!”
“Calzone Wednesday! We ordered 3 calzones for only $3.99 each. What a great deal! Ordered to pickup and was ready before the time they said. The restaurant was very busy inside. The inside is nice and clean. The only thing it could of had some Parmesan on the top. But other then that it was very good.”
“On our last day of an extended weekend stay in LA, we dropped in at PJ's Laplace following our traveling coffee shop stop tradition. Zach (manager) served up a pair of delectable Latte's; And to put it over the top, Wayne (owner) walked up to our table to seal the experience with that signature southern hospitality that'll have you coming back again and again. This coffee spot is a must do when you come to Laplace - No Doubt.L.A.”
“Alright y'all, i think I've found the best poboy in Louisiana at this little gem of a place in Laplace! Last Friday, i landed in New Orleans around lunchtime. If you've ever been to Louisiana during lent you know that any place serving fish is going to be steady packed. I'd done some research and decided this was the spot I was stopping at. Sure enough upon walking in there was a good number of folks in line and waiting for their order. I knew this was a good sign that I'd picked well. I ordered my poboy and found a place to wait. About 20 minutes later, it was ready and let him tell you that this shrimp and fish poboy was well worth the wait! Seasoned to perfection and served on bread that was the perfect combination of crispy and soft chewy. I'll definitely be back and trying something else on the menu!”
“Nice quiet bar for the locals. You can grab a cold beer and be surrounded by sports and great conversation. Great drink specials daily and free pool on Tuesdays and Sunday's. I hear the bartenders are pretty great too😎.”
“I've passed by this place quite a bit, and finally stopped in today. They have desserts, breakfast, and lunch. The atmosphere is pretty relaxing. I got the Korean BBQ poboy, and it was absolutely AMAZING!!!! It was seasoned well with a slight kick of spice. All the flavors came together beautifully on a perfectly soft bun! My only regret is, that I didn't get two of them!!!!”
“So happy we decided to come here after searching on Google maps we're from the Houston area. The food is amazing the LSU sushi roll and their crab puffs are delicious ? . Their Hot House sake and cold Bud light to make sake bombs made it all on point. And tempura fried anything is so ”
“The food, space, atmosphere and service was excellent! The food tasted so good! The servers were super sweet! I will return SOON!?? ❤️?? Kid-friendliness: Great kids menu! ?”
“Met a friend for lunch here. I had a bowl of white bean and turkey gumbo and she had a shrimp salad. While the "gumbo" might sound unusual everything about it was delicious-flavor, consistency, portion size. My friend's salad was ample with plenty of shrimp and a variety of complimentary vegetables to make it interesting and flavorful. The ranch dressing was ranch but appeared to be made in house. She loved it. Friendly, accommodating service added to the casual, comfortable atmosphere.”
“Listen yall.... we NEVER find food in La Place THIS GOOD. They make baked beans.. TRY THEM. They aren't your average baked beans. I was blown away by the explosion of flavor that smacked my lips when my wife gave me a bite. Gumbo is off the charts. They also sell their own hot sauce in house as well as other things like smoked sausages and spices. Definitely a hole in the wall that I'm glad we gave a try. We will be back!”
“Good place to get a gonzo salad. Not many healthy alternatives in the area. My salad was big enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Will go again when I'm staying in the area.”
“Food is amazing, hot, fresh and timely. The service was great and very friendly. The building it self is almost hidden in visuals that it's a restaurant. It's interior is old and outdated but it gives cafeteria vibes. But the food makes you forget all those things.Parking: Gravel section to left of the building.”
“Absolutely perfect. Fast Food. Usually Perfect Quality. If something is messed up, they can always take care of it! Staff are 90% of the time very nice. Can't say nothing bad.Wheelchair accessibility: They have ramp things in the curbs.”
“I went in to get Okra. I found out they serve Okra on Fridays. The Okra was mushy and overcooked with no seasoning. It was disgusting. I had to throw it away after two bites. The server at the bar where I waited for the takeout was rude. This was a totally bad experience. ?”
“There is not much in this cute little town. Fatty's is a great place for lunch. You will have a crowd till a little past 12:00 noon. Many plant worker flock here for their daily lunch. You will not go away hungry. We love the shrimp po boy with the large shrimp we split it with fries. Their hamburgers are great. They also sell cocktails. So come on down.”
“Great service ! Friendly people. I took my car there after a fishing trip and it was a hell storm, when I left my car looked like I just got it from a car loot!! Everyone should go there!!”
“Best hamburgers in town. Awesome grilled chicken too. Their Mexican dishes are freshly made. Their waiters and greeters are friendly and know the menu. This LaPlace location is the best El Paso I have ever patronized.”
“They were literally flipping around the closed sign as we walked up and stayed open (on a holiday) and made us some of the best food I have had. The owner is amazing and loves dogs. Great food, great price, great ”
“Aces is straight up good food. I had the shrimp box, the shrimp were fried perfect and the sweet potato fries were awesome. Pretty cheap too at $14 for a ton of food. Left happy and full.”
“I cannot say enough of this facility! I highly recommend. Their drinks are refreshing, facility is absolutely beautiful, inviting! And staff is friendly and helpful! I'm hooked, you should he too!”
“The best! Affordable and solid cuisine. Always hits the spot. For me, tacos are the way to go... accompanied by a nice frozen margarita. I love the frozen mango -- sweet and smooth! Best margaritas!”
“I was "lent" to LP&L from HL&P back in 1980 for hot startup testing for a year. I found out that was the best part of Nuclear Plant Operations in general; everything else was so boring. The Start-Up Engineers at Waterford were very creative and fun to work with. Unfortunately, we only had a few of the same caliber back in Texas when I got back to start-up our plant.”
“Excellent service. The same for their food. It's a family affair. Met Mother and Sonny, one of her sons. We see Sonny from time to time when on break from college. Nice atmosphere and as I said, the food is excellent.”
“My favorite Chinese restaurant of 20 years closed so I was looking for another! Saw where they had won 2022 - 2024 awards for best Chinese restaurant in Laplace. I ordered $65+ food and was not disappointed! Everything was perfect! As I was walking with a cane, the staff helped me carry everything to the car. It has now become my favorite Chinese restaurant!”
“Loaded fries were good as well as the wings. The seafood platter was also good but oysters were fishy which stirred me up a little. Service was good and atmosphere with the pool tables.”
