“There is not much in this cute little town. Fatty's is a great place for lunch. You will have a crowd till a little past 12:00 noon. Many plant worker flock here for their daily lunch. You will not go away hungry. We love the shrimp po boy with the large shrimp we split it with fries. Their hamburgers are great. They also sell cocktails. So come on down.”
“i get my breakfast sandwich most mornings and the ladies there make it just like i want it. The ladies are very nice and place is super clean also great ice tea.”
“It was great not having to ask what flavor syrups they had because the owners had a chalkboard with them all listed! They didn’t have the original flavor I wanted, but the barista was kind enough to share their favorite (rum barrel<not listed on the chalkboard; may not always be available) . It was splendid!”
“The food is always fresh, hot, and well made. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. The place is very clean and the prices are reasonable. It's my favorite place to eat.”
“Went on a Friday night. The place was full. Even with a full house, service was quick and very good. Server was very courteous. Food was well prepared and tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend.”
“Loaded fries were good as well as the wings. The seafood platter was also good but oysters were fishy which stirred me up a little. Service was good and atmosphere with the pool tables.”
“I've passed by this place quite a bit, and finally stopped in today. They have desserts, breakfast, and lunch. The atmosphere is pretty relaxing. I got the Korean BBQ poboy, and it was absolutely AMAZING!!!! It was seasoned well with a slight kick of spice. All the flavors came together beautifully on a perfectly soft bun! My only regret is, that I didn't get two of them!!!!”
“A little gem of a restaurant. Family friendly. Great staff. They made several recommendations. They were all great. Popper, Annie's burger, chicken and shrimp salad. Reasonably priced.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access”
“Met a friend for lunch here. I had a bowl of white bean and turkey gumbo and she had a shrimp salad. While the "gumbo" might sound unusual everything about it was delicious-flavor, consistency, portion size. My friend's salad was ample with plenty of shrimp and a variety of complimentary vegetables to make it interesting and flavorful. The ranch dressing was ranch but appeared to be made in house. She loved it. Friendly, accommodating service added to the casual, comfortable atmosphere.”
“We have been customers for more than 10 yearsVegetarian options: Excellent varietyDietary restrictions: Waitresses did communicate Dietary restrictions to kitchen.Parking: Excellent parkingKid-friendliness: Spacing is Kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Seating will accommodate wheelchairs”
“Good place to get a gonzo salad. Not many healthy alternatives in the area. My salad was big enough for dinner and lunch the next day. Will go again when I'm staying in the area.”
“Wow!! From a Texas boy this place is the spot dude!!! Gumbo full of flavor, the fish was super tasty and juicy! The shrimp just how I like Em’ not over cooked! Highly recommend!! I love Louisiana food!”
“Stopped in on our way out of new Orleans and absolutely loved it. A cute little family owned hole in a wall place. Little disappointed there was no gumbo or seafood, but the food we got was definitely delicious. Kicking chicken definitely had a kick. And the red beans and rice was really good. Really reasonably priced as well.”
“My favorite place! Very consistent dishes! I have a hard time driving by the place without wanting to go in! It is a hidden jewel I want all to myself! But that's selfish and they deserve to be shared with everyone! I love this restaurant!!!Vegetarian options: The hibachi vegetables are awesome!”
“My biggest thank you goes out to airborne for supporting my husband, helping us with a benefit to raise money for his radiation treatments! He's going to be a survivor!”
“Listen yall.... we NEVER find food in La Place THIS GOOD. They make baked beans.. TRY THEM. They aren't your average baked beans. I was blown away by the explosion of flavor that smacked my lips when my wife gave me a bite. Gumbo is off the charts. They also sell their own hot sauce in house as well as other things like smoked sausages and spices. Definitely a hole in the wall that I'm glad we gave a try. We will be back!”
“I went in to get Okra. I found out they serve Okra on Fridays. The Okra was mushy and overcooked with no seasoning. It was disgusting. I had to throw it away after two bites. The server at the bar where I waited for the takeout was rude. This was a totally bad experience. ?”
“Absolutely perfect. Fast Food. Usually Perfect Quality. If something is messed up, they can always take care of it! Staff are 90% of the time very nice. Can't say nothing bad.Wheelchair accessibility: They have ramp things in the curbs.”
“Calzone Wednesday! We ordered 3 calzones for only $3.99 each. What a great deal! Ordered to pickup and was ready before the time they said. The restaurant was very busy inside. The inside is nice and clean. The only thing it could of had some Parmesan on the top. But other then that it was very good.”
“Delicious! We arrived late for lunch at about 2:00. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. The owner even came out to greet us. I didn't ask if she was responsible for all of the great recipes, but I can see the love in her eyes and her passion for feeding people well. There was all kinds of food available to purchase and cook at home as well. Local fish, shrimp, frog legs, smoked rabbit, sausage, and more. I only wish I had more room in my belly!Kid-friendliness: Great for kids”
“Good food, pleasant setting, good prices, but nothing to write home about. The day I went they had run out of hot sausage and other menu items so I settled for a roast beef poboy. It was okay. I'll try it again next time I'm in the neighborhood and see if my opinion changes.”
“They were literally flipping around the closed sign as we walked up and stayed open (on a holiday) and made us some of the best food I have had. The owner is amazing and loves dogs. Great food, great price, great ”
“The food was excellent. However, the manager, I guess, spoke to all the tables except the ones with black people. Literally spoke to white couples on either side of us and passed us right by. I'm not concerned, honestly. Just thought it was super rude. The fried ice cream had soggy frosted flakes on it. But we picked them off.”
“We had a great experience. We were seated immediately. The server was friendly and very responsive. The food was delivered to the table, hot and delicious! We will definitely return! Thank you La Carreta!!”
“We visited Spuddy for his Cajun Cooking experience (personal cooking lesson). We made Andouille Sausage from scratch. We cooked Jambalaya, Gumbo and Smothered Okra. The food was amazing and the experience with Spuddy was unforgettable. This is a great thing do do when you visit the plantations.”
“I ate a 3-day old cheeseburger that had been bought for my granddaughter. The spices were excellent and the patty itself was “large”. Overall excellent sandwich.”
“The soft shell crabs are enormous, if you get the soft shell crab platter you will be taking home food. The waitress was quick and efficient overall wonderful experience.”
“My husband and I stopped on Wednesday early evening. We split the meat lovers pizza and house salad, which were delicious. We had the bread pudding to-go (wish we had gotten a double order). It is a local place with delicious food and great service. It was our first time eating there since they reopened (Hurricane Ida). It will definitely be a regular dinner spot.”
“Nice quiet bar for the locals. You can grab a cold beer and be surrounded by sports and great conversation. Great drink specials daily and free pool on Tuesdays and Sunday's. I hear the bartenders are pretty great too😎.”
“Food is amazing, hot, fresh and timely. The service was great and very friendly. The building it self is almost hidden in visuals that it's a restaurant. It's interior is old and outdated but it gives cafeteria vibes. But the food makes you forget all those things.Parking: Gravel section to left of the building.”
