“Wow!! From a Texas boy this place is the spot dude!!! Gumbo full of flavor, the fish was super tasty and juicy! The shrimp just how I like Em’ not over cooked! Highly recommend!! I love Louisiana food!”
“I've visited this spot every year for the last 7 years for the Christmas Eve bonfires. They serve food (chili, mac & cheese, chips, jambalaya) and have a live band with a cover for the night's festivities. It's always a comfortable temperature, depending on the weather outside and is a nice escape from the traffic and folks outside. Great spot to grab a cheap beer or mixed drink before heading out to the bonefires. Bathrooms aren't big, but they're clean! Definitely a dive bar - definitely a smoky bar.”
“Great little spot, homemade daiquiri's are seriously good. The beer is some of the coldest I've ever had. They have a screened in back porch that is really nice complete with flatscreens that always have the game on and sometimes there's live music..a hidden gem if I do say so myself..”
“Nice quiet bar for the locals. You can grab a cold beer and be surrounded by sports and great conversation. Great drink specials daily and free pool on Tuesdays and Sunday's. I hear the bartenders are pretty great too😎.”
“Wow, if you truly love home cooking, this is the place to be reminds me of going to my grandmother's for dinner down the river Road in Reserve ,food ,service , ambience , could not be any better than this, a must is the Baba for dessert”
“Mid afternoon, missed lunch, hungry and just wanted good food. This restaurant was outstanding, we had planned on just ordering shrimp on a bun and fish and shrimp in a box. The waitress suggested we try their gumbo. Everything was very good, but the gumbo was spectacular, perfect consistency, smooth clean flavors. Non of the gumbos I’ve had thus far in LA even came close. It is a must try. Sincerely”
“First time customer. Solid lunch spot. Food was hot and good service. We got a grilled chicken sandwich and the Monday special (jambalaya with white beans). Only negative was the little side piece of sausage that comes with the jambalaya was just ok.”
“Some of the world's best daiquiris as proven by extensive government research on the topic. My current favorite is the notorious Blue Explosion which contains both Crown Royal and Diesel (190 proof). Order at the drive-through window and taste any of the flavors before you commit. Be sure to keep one hand firmly on the wheel while operating your automobile. It's just good drive 'n daiq' etiquette.”
“We visited Spuddy for his Cajun Cooking experience (personal cooking lesson). We made Andouille Sausage from scratch. We cooked Jambalaya, Gumbo and Smothered Okra. The food was amazing and the experience with Spuddy was unforgettable. This is a great thing do do when you visit the plantations.”
“I ate a 3-day old cheeseburger that had been bought for my granddaughter. The spices were excellent and the patty itself was “large”. Overall excellent sandwich.”
“Food is amazing, hot, fresh and timely. The service was great and very friendly. The building it self is almost hidden in visuals that it's a restaurant. It's interior is old and outdated but it gives cafeteria vibes. But the food makes you forget all those things.Parking: Gravel section to left of the building.”
“This was my first visit to Crawford's but it will not be the last. Our food was delicious! My children wanted MORE ?! If you're looking for a tasty, homestyle meal, Crawford's is great in Slidell. Great customer service, great food.”
“There is not much in this cute little town. Fatty's is a great place for lunch. You will have a crowd till a little past 12:00 noon. Many plant worker flock here for their daily lunch. You will not go away hungry. We love the shrimp po boy with the large shrimp we split it with fries. Their hamburgers are great. They also sell cocktails. So come on down.”
“A historic place. The main house is not very big compared to some of the huge mansions you can see in other places. They really maintained it well with so much tourism going on. The tours are both educational and insightful. The oak trees are really something else, especially when you just walk out of that door on the second floor. Some of them are more than 300 (or even 500?) years old I believe.”
“My husband and I stopped on Wednesday early evening. We split the meat lovers pizza and house salad, which were delicious. We had the bread pudding to-go (wish we had gotten a double order). It is a local place with delicious food and great service. It was our first time eating there since they reopened (Hurricane Ida). It will definitely be a regular dinner spot.”
“Friendly staff. Candy will take care of you..local bar with deep Cajun flare. They're in the process of repairing the restaurant. Good home-cooked south Louisiana delights...”
“Lunch was half a fried shrimp poboy with some gumbo. The sandwich was good as was the gumbo. Friendly staff. Interesting local place worth grabbing lunch at if you are in the area.”
“Good food, pleasant setting, good prices, but nothing to write home about. The day I went they had run out of hot sausage and other menu items so I settled for a roast beef poboy. It was okay. I'll try it again next time I'm in the neighborhood and see if my opinion changes.”
“???⚪️⚪️⚪️It is a small souvenir shop, a grocery store and a restaurant all in one.For the dish of the day there was jambalaya accompanied by a salad, fried fish and a bowl of gumbo. It filled me up but it didn’t make me excited either!”
“Food was amazing, the service was exemplary. We were there for a tour, so we had a departure time. The manager made sure we were aware what would be ready fast to ensure we did not miss the ride back. Their bread pudding was amazing and we added that to an already excellent gumbo (chicken and sausage).”
“Update: Have been back a few times and the food is just great! Had the best bacon cheeseburger there tonight and some fantastic onion rings. Everything was delicious and fresh! Will continue to go back. Fun atmosphere, friendly service, just had dessert but plan to go again soon for a good dinner and some live music”
“The service was good, but I had disappointing news, they will no longer carry the seafood, crab meat,or whatever U call it in not fair there should have been a servery done,I think it sucks they just might loose me, with my spinach wrap and seafood ?”
“I've just started going to this bar everybody there is very friendly and I always have a good time and relax that's the main reason I go there far is to relax and when I leave there I'm very relaxed”
