“Good food, pleasant setting, good prices, but nothing to write home about. The day I went they had run out of hot sausage and other menu items so I settled for a roast beef poboy. It was okay. I'll try it again next time I'm in the neighborhood and see if my opinion changes.”

“Arrived at a slow time. My order was taken quickly and processed well. There was a beautiful red head (ellie I think). Who brought us our food with a great smile. The kind of smile that made you feel she wanted to be there. The only room for improvement was I believe the totts were slightly undercooked. Just didn't taste right. All else was just as expected.”

“Mid afternoon, missed lunch, hungry and just wanted good food. This restaurant was outstanding, we had planned on just ordering shrimp on a bun and fish and shrimp in a box. The waitress suggested we try their gumbo. Everything was very good, but the gumbo was spectacular, perfect consistency, smooth clean flavors. Non of the gumbos I’ve had thus far in LA even came close. It is a must try. Sincerely”

“We visited Spuddy for his Cajun Cooking experience (personal cooking lesson). We made Andouille Sausage from scratch. We cooked Jambalaya, Gumbo and Smothered Okra. The food was amazing and the experience with Spuddy was unforgettable. This is a great thing do do when you visit the plantations.”

“Stopped in on our way out of new Orleans and absolutely loved it. A cute little family owned hole in a wall place. Little disappointed there was no gumbo or seafood, but the food we got was definitely delicious. Kicking chicken definitely had a kick. And the red beans and rice was really good. “There is not much in this cute little town. Fatty's is a great place for lunch. You will have a crowd till a little past 12:00 noon. Many plant worker flock here for their daily lunch. You will not go away hungry. We love the shrimp po boy with the large shrimp we split it with fries. Their hamburgers are great. They also sell cocktails. So come on down.”

“We visited Crevasse on April 14, 2023 for lunch. They have been on our ‘have to try’ list for quite some time, but they recently changed ownership. The facility itself is wonderfully rustic and housed in a very old building that has a long history of varied uses over the decades. The beautiful drive along River Road is the perfect pre-meal gift offered to all who make the wise choice to visit. We arrived early (as we often do) so did not encounter any ‘lunch rush’. The menu is not extensive, but there are adequate choices to please most anyone, including a “kids’ menu”. We were immediately greeted and seated. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. They do a daily lunch special, and there were two options today. Each special includes a generous house salad as well as a dessert (with ice cream as an option) My wife and I each ordered one of the menu specials, with water as our beverage of choice. My wife ordered the crab cake and fried shrimp (3). The specials were served with fries. The crab cake and the shrimp were done very well with nice seasoning and full flavor. The crab patty had a good balance of crab meat and “stuffing”, and was delicious. I ordered the fish and shrimp plate. I was served two nice-sized pieces of fried fish as well as fried shrimp (3). The portions on the sides of fries are adequate, while not the over-sized type you often see when a restaurant is trying to ‘fill the plate’ and falls victim to the quantity over quality path. The fries were obviously hand cut, very freshly fried and delicious. My wife order the vanilla ice cream as her dessert. I passed on the peach cobbler, since I was more than satisfied with my meal and didn’t need the calories. Overall, we had a very positive experience and look forward to visiting again and inviting family and friends to join us.”

“Calzone Wednesday! We ordered 3 calzones for only $3.99 each. What a great deal! Ordered to pickup and was ready before the time they said. The restaurant was very busy inside. The inside is nice and clean. The only thing it could of had some Parmesan on the top. But other then that it was very good.”

“My husband and I stopped on Wednesday early evening. We split the meat lovers pizza and house salad, which were delicious. We had the bread pudding to-go (wish we had gotten a double order). It is a local place with delicious food and great service. It was our first time eating there since they reopened (Hurricane Ida). It will definitely be a regular dinner spot.”

“I've visited this spot every year for the last 7 years for the Christmas Eve bonfires. They serve food (chili, mac & cheese, chips, jambalaya) and have a live band with a cover for the night's festivities. It's always a comfortable temperature, depending on the weather outside and is a nice escape from the traffic and folks outside. Great spot to grab a cheap beer or mixed drink before heading out to the bonefires. Bathrooms aren't big, but they're clean! Definitely a dive bar - definitely a smoky bar.”

“The oak alley plantation may be the best plantation I’ve ever been too I’ve seen many don’t take this as racism please but because I’m a historian I met a young fellow reenactment of Romeo and Juliet with their cousins I fell in love with the place but the staff didn’t a few rude people but comes with the house as many acted like they were living in 1899 the house we went at night from the French American city nearby Denis or something my friend lenny was hurled insults by locals unfortunately we came to find the house burning but when we came back 3months later the house was rebuilt hurray the local law enforcement blockaded our entry and forced us out stupid gray haired people but the games of cribbage and moonshine handed around that I stole a bit much for the tickets were quiet expensive authentic moonshine and chicken steaks given out although I fear flies had tainted my meat ? I love the place and would come back but the staff need to be kinder to fellows from the north as they called me a Yankee next time I won’t bring my son though as some old white trash hag attempted to take him and give him to her Italian cousins will dodge Italians in future thank you”

My current favorite is the notorious Blue Explosion which contains both Crown Royal and Diesel (190 proof). Order at the drive-through window and taste any of the flavors before you commit. Be sure to keep one hand firmly on the wheel while operating your automobile. It's just good drive 'n daiq' etiquette.”

“First time customer. Solid lunch spot. Food was hot and good service. We got a grilled chicken sandwich and the Monday special (jambalaya with white beans). Only negative was the little side piece of sausage that comes with the jambalaya was just ok.”
