I have NO ideal how I’ve never heard of this place , I guess it’s because I live in Ponchatoula and don’t speak to many folks because I work most of the time .... But wow !!!! Not only the best Po-Boy I’ve “EVER” had the blessing to taste ... But what friendly folks you have working there as well !!! The bread .... Holy moly !!! Absolutely perfect for a Po-Boy!!! Semi crunchy on the outside but so soft on the inside .. and it doesn’t fall apart !! The shrimp and oysters were fried to protection !!! “I loved this place! The staff were friendly and the live music we were treated to music from a great cajun fiddler while we ate! The food was really good too! Delicious gumbo and the shrimp po boy was decent. If I had more time I would have opted for a dozen or more blue crabs that they had to offer, fresh out of the water! It’s really close to the Laurel and Oak Alley Plantations which makes it a great option for anyone going to tour those locations!! Highly recommend it!”

“I stayed the night in one of their lovely cottages, which was great. Clean, vintage, all you could expect from the experience. Still it is indeed a bit overpriced. Walking around the property, mansion and oak alley at the dark of night was a very fun experience. Property is stuningly beautiful obviously. Reception lady was great. The downside is the guided tour through the interior of the mansion, which was very quick (less than 30 mins) and uninformative. I toured other plantations that were by far more interesting in terms of guided tour. Breakfast was also not very good and server was a bit sloppy.”

“We ordered the special and they forgot our salad but we were in a rush so it wasn’t worth bringing up. We told them we had a tour to get to and they advised what was best to order to be able to make it on time and they got our food to us quickly. The mushroom, corn, crawfish soup was so good. Wish I could make it at home!”

“New name! Cajun Cafe. Enjoyed the gumbo and the corn and crab Bisque. Friendly, caring staff, great food choices. Crawfish quesadilla was new for me and nice! It was a sweet cafe with beautiful homey paintings. Reasonably priced food.”

“We love China King! They keep the buffet filled right up until closing. Not a huge buffet but good options. More options when ordering. Take out is usually pretty fast. Call ahead and my large order is ready in 30 minutes. We’ve never had anything bad there. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious!”
