Frenier Landing Restaurant & Oyster Bar offers a scenic dining experience with beautiful views of Lake Ponchartrain, especially from the outdoor seating area. The restaurant is known for its delicious seafood, including oysters, which are a highlight for many visitors. The oysters on the half shell are often described as perfect in size and slightly salty, and the imperial oysters receive high praise. Other popular dishes include crawfish hush puppies, soft shell crab, fried shrimp, and the stuffed flounder, which guests look forward to trying again. The menu features a variety of deep-fried items such as alligator sausage, bacon-wrapped shrimp, and shrimp po boy, though some guests find them small for the price and wish for more grilled or blackened options. The food is generally good, with some noting that certain dishes like the fried shrimp can be lukewarm or hard, and shrimp may not always be fresh Gulf shrimp. The atmosphere is enhanced by live music and the serene lakeside setting. Service is friendly and attentive, even during busy times like private parties. Overall, Frenier Landing offers a great Louisiana experience with tasty food, friendly staff, and a lovely view, making it a place worth returning to.
