This place was thoroughly disappointing. Just walking in I could tell there was a 50/50 chance of it either being alright or terrible. Service is terrible. We stood in front of the counter for like 8 or more minutes watching the employee write things down, press buttons on the register, seemingly actively trying to ignore our presence. Then he took a call and walked off, came back and still made sure never to look toward the direction of us or ever to address us and the other customers now in line. Finally I had to ask him “Excuse me could we order” or something like that for him to even take notice of us. Also when I asked a simply clarification question he went into a long explanation about obvious things that I hadn’t asked about in a slightly degrading tone. The place feels both too bright and open but at the same time dingy, possibly because of the strange lighting reflecting off the puke green paint. The booths were not very comfy (relatively hard surface.) The seats unreasonably far from the tables requiring you to hunch over which is compounded by the tables themselves being oddly and an uncomfortably low. It might look like somewhere where dinning-in is just as acceptable of an option as take out but once you try it, it is clear that dinning-in is not what they care about. Food comes out on mainly plastic which isn’t the biggest deal, but a real killer is there is no option for non plastic cutlery which is very perplexing for the type of food they serve tends to be the kind you would want to have real silverware for. Oh and they do not have any knives at all. Finally the food itself : the fried rice came out very dry, not really like I would expect any type of rice to ever be served as. Felt like it had sat somewhere in the open for like 20 minutes or more and then been served. The chicken was fine although cut in a way where there wasn’t much of the non hard parts. And unlike any Hibachi place I’ve ever been to the stake was real chewy and a good 5 or 6 pieces were next to impossible to get to a point where you could digest. Altogether maybe they were having a bad night, maybe I’ll try it again someday, but some of what I witnessed are more than just bad luck of when I chose to visit. If the other Hibachi restaurant wasn’t temporarily closed due to a kitchen fire, I wonder if this place would be getting much business at all.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!! IF YOU ARE CEOLIAC OR HAVE GLUTEN ALLERGY DO NOT STOP HERE THEY ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE AND HAVE VERY FEW OPTIONS THAT THEY CAN POTENTIALLY MAKE GLUTEN FREE!! If I could give a negative on the review I would.
I will start with the only 2 good things. The two young ladies working the register and serving were amazing and it was a fairly clean environment. FOR THE BAD: We stopped here for dinner on our way back to Texas. We were fed scraps. We ordered the eel avocado roll, an avocado roll and California roll. The eel roll was nothing but skin. No meat and they tasted like cleaning chemicals. The rolls were not well made they completely fell apart with little rice on the rolls. I ordered a plate of steamed white rice and grilled chicken for my son and the rice was mushy and the chicken was dry. I am not one to normally say anything negative even if the food was bad, I can handle bad food but this was worse. I wouldn't have fed this to an animal!

To the team at Osaka Express, I offer my heartfelt thanks for an evening filled with laughter, love, and delicious food. We stopped at Osaka for a break on our road trip. From the moment my family walked in the door, we were welcomed by the friendly staffs. Although the wall was a little odd, it didn’t take away from the great experience since the counter was just around the corner. We ordered from their new speciality menu and we LOVED it! The Crispy Crab Roll was so crispy and delicious and the Coconut Shrimp was creamy and flavorful! The hibachi was great paired with the sauce on the front counter and the edamame was heavenly. We cannot wait to explore other menu items when we pass by Ruston again!

Parking: Plenty of parking spots

Kid-friendliness: They have a kid menu, which is a smaller portion of fried rice for kids

Wheelchair accessibility: There are many tables where chairs could be moved for easy wheelchair access!

The food isn’t good and the business concept altogether wasn’t a great idea.

I visited this spot since I know they are relatively new. The only downside is the placement of the wall as soon as you enter, not much they can do about it. I ordered and had my appetizer and soup in less than 5 minutes. Three minutes later, my meal was ready. Staff were very friendly and accommodating! Food was tasty and well seasoned. The amount of veggies in the dinner is massive! Overall, a good experience, and I'll definitely return.

It was a absolutely awful. Felt more like getting food and eating inside at a McDonald’s than a sushi restaurant. Steak and chicken hibachi wasnt seasoned at all. The fried dumplings were good but thats the only saving grace here.
