I love eating at Sam's Southern Eatery but this location just wasn't nearly as good as other locations we have eaten at.

Delicious food. Me and my papaw love to come here for lunch and share the philly cheese steak with okra, fries, and fried pickles. Always delicious and wonderful service!

The chicken schwarma pita sandwiches & fries were seasoned well. Fries crispy and of medium thickness. Soft pita bread. The chicken had a different flavored marinade than we've had before but still very good (tasted like a philly chicken cheese steak). Garlicky sauce included (we used to dip fries). For $10 combo it was hot and fresh. Drinks are bought separately. The cashier wasn't very talkative but mentioned he was new. Cook brought out our food himself and seemed very proud to serve us. Very delicious food= we both loved it. The iced tea was dark and strong = yum.As for decor - it was very dark inside, not impressive, & looked like an old shabby diner. At least appeared clean. Will go again.

An empty dining room during peak dining hours on a Saturday should've been my cue. I asked the two guys at the counter what kind of fish comes with the plates. "Whole and fillet" & "I don't know" were the only responses I got. One of the guys didn't even seem to speak English. Went to wash my hands while I waited...no soap in either restroom and it looked like it had been some time since anyone had been back there at all. One of the guys brought my order to my table but that was the extent of the service. The food was ok, definitely nothing to write home about. I wanted to try something local, but I left thinking I'd been better off in my hotel room and starving with that $10 still in my pocket.

NEVER answers the phone, they will send you to voicemail. I’ve only ate here once years ago even then the prices through the roof before market prices went up. I called about to get info on what they had, they didn’t answer after several calls and once getting there the hostess/cashier didn’t know about anything .

I will NEVER go come back here. They was so good until now. I ordered fish and shrimp ate one fish and one shrimp. When I tried to eat the 2nd piece of fish its was PINK inside. I felt sick right after that and no longer had the an appetite for the food and this is not the first time of them doing this but I like to give people a chance. I also asked the cashier this time to make sure they don’t have my fish pink like last time she acted like she know what I was saying but was very rude when I wanted my money back and not fish. She even charged my boyfriend & I for the food we have already ate and might get sick from. I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO NO ONE NOT EVEN A DOG.

If you're looking for good southern seafood and a bit of privacy, then dine in here. There's been multiple visits where me and my other half were the only people sitting inside the restaurant and eating. Takeout is most common here and their large catering size orders can feed plenty of people. I have yet to have a bad experience with their food. The grilled fish is my favorite by far.Review update: I've decided that I don't want to eat inside Sam's southern eatery anymore due to the past few times I've been in there, I've had a random stranger come off the street and ask me for cash, saying they're hungry. I always say that I will buy them food off the menu, but no- they want cash. I will still order takeout and support them that way.
