We enjoy their happy hour and have had lunch here a few times. Good food and a great bar. The Sunday Brunch is outstanding! Best Shrimp and Grits I've ever had
We are from little Rock Arkansas and on our wat to see our daughter. We stopped in trios for lunch. We were very imprrssed with the entire visit. The food was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend you trying trios out if you are in the area.
The new owners of Trios have really turned this restaurant around! The service is amazing, the food is incredible, and the owners make you feel like you've been friends forever.
My husband and I never wanted to eat at Trios before, but after the new owners took over we gave it a shot. The staff was super friendly and once again yall the food was just so good!!! 10/10 our new date night spot.
New ownership is really taking this place to the next level. If this is the foundation I can’t wait to see where they go from here. Well worth your time!
A Remarkable Transformation – Ruston's Culinary Gem Elevated
From the moment I stepped through the door, the difference was undeniable. The new owners have elevated this restaurant to an entirely new standard of excellence. I was warmly welcomed with a level of professionalism and attentiveness that instantly made me feel valued and appreciated.
The customer service was nothing short of exceptional—every detail was clearly thoughtful, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. It’s evident that hospitality is now at the heart of this establishment.
As for the food—absolutely exquisite. I highly recommend starting with the hummus appetizer; it was incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. And after a long day of travel and business meetings, their signature gin, rosemary, and lemon cocktail was the perfect refreshing finish to a long day. Pure perfection in a glass.
This place has always held potential, but under new leadership, it’s become one of the finest dining experiences in Ruston. I truly felt like royalty during my visit. It’s now firmly at the top of my list of local favorites, and I’m genuinely excited to see how this already exceptional restaurant continues to grow. A heartfelt congratulations to the new team—you’ve created something truly special.
Food was all over cooked and almost burnt. Server was friendly but a bit slow.
I’m visiting from up north, and unfortunately, this has been by far the worst dining experience I’ve had. The staff was unprofessional, the food was overpriced and of poor quality, and the drinks were watered down. On top of that, a service fee was added for just two people, which is outrageous. I don’t even like Waffle House, but at this point, I’d prefer it over this place. Very disappointing overall.
the food is very expensive and not all that great and I was charged for a drink that I asked to be removed from the ticket and a service charge when I only had a party of 2. This is my opinion and my experience! Do not recommend!
I won’t be returning to this place. First, the food is overpriced for how average it is. I ordered orange juice, and it tasted watered down—like Minute Maid, not something fresh from the bar as claimed, so I requested a lemonade instead. The server charged me for both, and when I asked about it, I was told that since it came from the “bar”, there’s no refund. That’s the first time I’ve ever heard of that.
Second, a service charge was automatically added to the bill. That’s frustrating, especially when I didn’t have the chance to decide on the tip myself.
Third, the appetizer felt like a rip-off. They charged $12 for truffle fries that were no different from the fries served with the meal. On top of that, the appetizer was automatically split without me requesting it.
Overall, the experience felt like poor value for the price. I do not recommend it.
10/10 – A Graduation Celebration to Remember! We can't say enough great things about our experience at Trio’s! We were celebrating our children's graduation and had a number of out-of-town guests with us. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home. A very special thanks to Colin and L.A. who went above and beyond to make our celebration truly memorable. Their attention to detail, kindness, and genuine care turned an already joyful occasion into something extraordinary. They were incredibly accommodating, making sure every guest was taken care of and that everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was top-tier. We’re so grateful for the hospitality and heart that went into making this day so special. Highly recommend Trio’s Diner for any occasion—or even just a great meal.
Restaurantji Recommends
I was a regular and noticed a recent nosedive culinarily.
I attended my niece's graduation dinner at Trios Dining Restaurant, where I had high hopes based on recommendations. Regrettably, my experience turned out to be quite disappointing. We arrived at 1:30 PM, excited about our reservation on the outdoor patio equipped with heaters. However, due to the chilly weather, we requested our server, Jackson, to turn them on, only to be told by the unnamed hostess that they were not functioning. When I asked if she had informed my sister, the graduate's mother, she replied no. I then asked for the manager's availability, which she confirmed, and led me to the bar, where Collin was preparing drinks. When I inquired if he was the manager, he simply asked how he could assist. I raised my concerns about the broken heaters and the lack of communication.
Although we were eventually moved inside, which was a welcome change, Jackson excelled in his service despite the circumstances. He took our drink orders and promptly returned with waters, teas, and soft drinks. However, my husband's beer took an astonishing 20 minutes to arrive. When I checked in with the hostess about its status, she took another 10 minutes to return, explaining they had to search for it in the back. Jackson continued to impress us with his attentiveness, but we experienced significant delays with our food orders. With a party of 40, I understand that challenges arise, yet our reservation was at 1:30 PM, and most of our meals didn't arrive until 3:30 PM. When I asked Jackson about the delay, he apologized and assured us they were working on it.
I approached Collin again regarding the slow service, but he seemed indifferent, asking what I wanted him to do and offering a discount. While I appreciated the gesture, my primary concern was the service quality, not the cost. After our discussion, I canceled my order since most of our party had received their meals except for mine and my husband's. Returning to my seat, Jackson later informed us that they had burned my husband's pizza and were remaking it. Shortly after, he returned with the news that they were out of pizza crust. How could they not be aware of this before claiming to remake the pizza? This pointed to poor communication from the kitchen staff.
Collin later approached our table and, rather unhelpfully, stated that he was just a front-end manager and didn't know how to resolve our issues. He offered a discount, which I declined. I requested the owner's contact information, but he didn't have it. I then asked to speak with the kitchen manager, which led me to LA, who addressed the situation directly and professionally. He apologized for the pizza issue and the delays in serving our food, offering to make my husband anything from the menu as compensation for the mistakes made. Not once did Collin apologize for any of the issues we faced.
When I asked LA for the owner's name, he provided it, which was reassuring. I believe that Google reviews play a crucial role in informing owners about customer experiences. Collin's lack of concern in addressing customer complaints did not reflect strong leadership qualities, which impacted the rest of the staff.
My group and I were seated for quite a while before the waitress came by and it seemed she might have been too busy to take care of us. The drinks were good and the ambiance was good, but the pastry platter was lack luster and felt like Walmart rolls to me.
