“This Cafeteria is sealed, in my memory , as one of the iconic places my late single father would take us to have dinner , as I grew-up in Houston, TX; it was rough , b/c my parents were , constantly fighting, & my dad felt guilty, b/c he worked hard , as a carpenter& often didn’t have the time& energy to cook for his two daughters& wanted us to enjoy a home cooked style meal! He , would ask, us , daily, if we had enjoyed a hot meal& if we didn’t, he would offer to bring us to Piccadilly’s!! This was a regular occurance throughout my 4 th & 5th Gd. Years!! I miss eating here!!!“
