Evi's Schnitzel Haus

They are closed at the moment for renovations and will reopen for Octoberfest 2019. While I was there setting up for a preplanned birthday party, so many people stopped by to eat. Unfortunately, they were met by the sign that states that they are closed. The customers seemed so disappointed. I didn't realized why they were so upset until I tried their food. The food was so good! Great family owned business. You should definitely visit in October to see the renovations and to try the food of course.

This is by far one of the BEST German restaurants in the state! The food took me back to my childhood of grandmas food and the sauerkraut is amazing!!! Evil is very kind, nice to see a owner so involved in her restaurant!

Great food by some amazing people. Definitely recommend Evi's. Large German beer selection to compliment a tasty menu. Schnitzels are made to order and so well worth a short wait. Stein of beer and good friends, this is the place.

Best place to eat by far in Shreveport!!! Friendly staff and the owners are extremely friendly and make you feel welcomed from the moment you walk thru the door. If you haven't ever eaten German food this is the place is a must go for authentic German food!!!

Evi's Schnitzel Haus brings some much-needed international flair to Shreveport-Bossier. They specialize in schnitzels, a German style of pork chop; but at Evi's you can also try bratwurst, real sourkraut and authentic German chocolate cake. They also serve a variety of German beers. Evi's is family owned and operated, and while they sometimes get a busy lunch or dinner crowd, if you give them a minute, they will treat you like family. Their restaurant is like an expanded version of traditional German 'schnitzel houses', which serve schnitzels exclusively; if you're looking for a full spread of German cuisine, Shreveport still doesn't have that yet. But if you want to enjoy real schnitzel or knackwurst and wash it down with a Weihenstephaner's, and feel like you've found extended family from around the world, you should definitely give Evi's a try.

My wife and son love Evi's, perhaps it is because it is the only place in the area to get German food. I on the other hand, feel that it's just okay. I will order food from them when my wife and son want to go but it's really not a place that I would go out of my way to eat at myself and not because I don't like German food, I love German food just not super excited about Evi's.

This restaurant is located on a service road on the west side of the river on Westgate lane. I have to assume that the restaurant moved recently because internet pictures of the outside are not accurate. Although the building is relatively unassuming and you wouldn't know it was a restaurant from outside. Don't let this dissuade you from going out. Once inside, you definitely feel like you're in a German style restaurant. It has plenty of seating for small and large parties. We also noted that it was clean and well-maintained.
