Stopped by Sabores Dominican Restaurant near Barksdale Air Force Base and honestly had a pretty mixed experience.

I ordered the pollo guisado with arroz y habichuelas and yuca frita. The food itself actually tasted good. The chicken was well seasoned and flavorful, and the rice and beans went really well with it. The yuca was also solid and cooked well.

The main issue was the environment. The place felt dirty and unclean, and there were flies around that kept landing on the food, which made it hard to really enjoy the meal.

The owners were nice and welcoming, even though there was a bit of a language barrier. They still tried to provide good service.

I ended up spending about $30. The food had good flavor, but the cleanliness and overall atmosphere made the experience less enjoyable than it should have been.

Tasty spot. 1st time visiting Shreveport and we found this gem. Pollo guisado was superb. Mofongitos delicious. I didn't take a picture of the food while there but leftovers were so good. There was a party for someone going on and my daughter and I got to dance.

We drove from Alexandria to eat here. Google states they are open. They have a Monday special, yet the door sign states they are closed on Mondays. Why?!

Food was delicious, they didn't get my order right. What i was given, I asked for oxtail, they bought me pepper steak and told me when they bought me the plate there were no oxtail. Still i enjoyed the food 10 out of 10 we recommend....will be back

Wonderful meal. Service was good as only a few patrons were inside after 1PM. The best jerk chicken I’ve had. Atmosphere is lacking but the food definitely makes up for it.
5 stars for food!

Kent asked the waitress for the most local Dominican plate and he got arroz con pernil y cebolla. That’s NOT Dominican at all!, that’s puertorrican. He even got the tostones with mayo ketchup also puertorrican. The worst part was that presidente beer was not even available in a Dominican restaurant, Kent is getting hundreds of comments from Dominican people who felt embarrassed watching his experience at this restaurant.
