Food was ok but I won't be back. Someone decided to go live and record. I didn't consent to be on anyone's live nor was I asked. This is my first and last time visiting this establishment.

This place has some delicious soul food and really large portions. It looks like a small family restaurant with attention to detail. I ordered the meatloaf, Mac and cheese, and yams with cornbread for lunch. The meatloaf is tender and moist. Not my favorite with brown gravy, (I’m more of a red sauce kind of gal) but it was ok. The Mac and cheese was cheesy with some type of herbs? added in it for additional flavor. Pretty tasty. The yams were my favorite and the dish came with a side of hot water cornbread. This place really stands out with customer service. The staff make you feel at home and like you are a part of their own family. The name suits this place well as you are blessed with good food, good service, and it really does feed your soul.

They were not even open when I drove across town that I was visiting in to eat there...google hours of operation said one thing but hours on door said something different.

Food was delicious and the hospitality was great . Very welcoming, friendly, giving, and I loved the humor. Hopefully we have the opportunity to travel back through.

OMG! I heard about this restaurant on TikTok and decided to try and I'm glad I did. I got the hamburger steak, potatoes, greens and mac and cheese cornbread. Everything was hot, seasoned place was clean bathroom too. Walk by faith is my new go to when in the port city you won't be disappointed.
See you guys soon!

We loved this place! The owner served us with a big smile on his face, and the food was terrific with enormous portions!

Friends and I ate here because of the good reviews. We were so disappointed. Mac and cheese was listed on the menu as a side but when we ordered it they were out of it. I got the stuffed turkey leg with dressing, turnip greens and fried okra. The turkey leg was smoked and fall off the bone tender. It was delicious. The dressing was terrible. It was something akin to Stove Top. It didn’t have onions, celery, bell peppers or eggs. There was something on top of it that was supposed to be giblet gravy.. It didn’t do anything to enhance the flavor. The greens were from the can and they were cold. The fried okra was good. It was fried in cornmeal and was piping hot. The cornbread was awful. One friend had smothered pork chops and she said they were not good. Another friend said the candied yams were too sweet. The food left a lot to be desired since Louisiana is known for its good food. The food is served in styrofoam take out containers and you get really small plastic utensils. The only dessert was strawberry cake made from cake mix and canned icing. It was awful. I couldn’t eat it. I ordered water and I had to remind the waiter about five times to bring my water. He was friendly but not very efficient. He said he is from Chicago. That explains why the food is so bad. He didn’t learn how to cook southern cuisine.

Two of my favorite things in life are some good southern soul food and meeting people with a good southern soul. Well… Here ya go! A friend recommended Walking By Faith (to stop me from drooling over her plate) and they did not disappoint! We had the stuffed catfish with pasta… not just any pasta… MAGIC pasta… and a sample of Reverend Johnell’s rib tips. OH. MY. GOODNESSSS!!! (And at $14 to $18 a plate!) Y’all go check em out! You won’t regret it! (And say hello to the Reverend. You can’t miss him. He’s the one with the big friendly smiling welcome when you walk in the door!) ♥️
