Super sweet server. Super amazing beignets. Highly recommend the chocolate glaze. Stopped in here on the start of vacation and plan on stopping again when I leave Louisiana.

Dangerously delicious beignets. The coffee was great too. Decent prices and the staff was super friendly. 8

Hey me again, from looking at all of you reviews from Sunday to Monday. You show no care for your customers and your employees. You are beyond rude and quite frankly don’t even deserve the company you have. I hope you do better and realize that being rude and disrespectful is not a good way to treat someone with very much respect towards you.

Beignets were just okay. I would try it again, however the owner was flat out rude while ordering and asking questions, so I will not be returning.

Overpriced. 37.50 for 2 beignet orders and 4 coffees. WoW!
Staff not very friendly.
I am the mother who left the review. My daughter had nothing to do with my writting.
Adding milk should not make the coffee that high.
I wonder how you managed to be in business 14 years.
Don't you worry yourself, we wont be returning.

On Saturday October 19, my husband and I stopped for lunch in downtown Slidell LA at the Beignet Au Lait. On the way there, I called to verify that they had outside tables and whether dogs were allowed outside their establishment. The woman who answered the phone assured me without hesitation that dogs were allowed. When we arrived, I got to the restaurant door with our dog before my husband. The door to the restaurant was open when we arrived, and my happy dog looked inside the door. I said, “No, you can’t go inside” and our dog and I sat down at a small table just outside the door. My husband then joined me at the table. The woman inside (the owner?) then came to the door and closed it without saying anything to us or asking if we would like any water or a menu. We thought that was odd, but after a minute I went inside where I looked around and did not see anyone. I looked for a paper menu to take outside so we could decide what to order. When the woman spoke to me, she seemed to be keeping as far away from me as possible, staying way back in the kitchen. I asked her about a menu. She said I could take one from one of the tables. I asked her about ordering, and she still kept her distance, and said we could order inside.

Once we decided what to order, I went back inside and ordered our meal. When I moved towards the back where I thought I needed to pay, she stopped me and told me where to stand further away and in front of her to pay. I told her that she did not seem very welcoming. She said from a distance, “I don’t like other people’s dogs.” That was really strange, because when she told us we could bring our dog, it did not seem to be a problem.

After this, while we waited outside for our order, several different friendly women stopped by to talk with us and our dog, petting him, and enjoying his calm, sweet, warm nature.

When the woman/owner came out with our food, she stayed as far away from us as possible when she handed us our food. I asked a couple of the women speaking with us if they had been at the restaurant before. One of them told us that she comes there often because the food is so good. When I mentioned that the woman seemed rather cold and hostile to us, she was surprised. Apparently this same women/owner was always “sweet” to them. This confirmed our suspicion that she must have had a problem – not so much with our dog - but with the fact that my husband is black and I am white. We were quite disgusted with her attitude and behavior.

This is just to let future customers know that racism appears to be alive and well in Beignet Au Lait, 1071 Robert Blvd, Suite 5, Slidell, LA. Although the food was very good, the customer service was beyond terrible.

I read the reviews and decided I will not support this buisness!

It's always hot in there
The owner never smiles look like she always has an attitude and the prices are way too high.
Not to bring the owner down If she would just smile a little more fix the air conditioner and bring the prices down a little bit because her beignets are pretty good maybe I'll reconsider. But until then my money not going back to that place.

We stoped at Beignet Au Lait on our way to the airport and got the regular sugar beignets. It was fresh, warm and delicious. I definitely recommend to anyone passing by the area.

I went to this breakfast spot Saturday September 14 at 11 am and i experienced the worst customer service ever by the owner of the establishment herself. I handed the woman my card to pay for my order and she put my card down on the counter for me to pick up myself. she did the same thing with the receipt and pen i used to sign it. There was no greeting when she seen me nor was there a thank you or anything. The prices are crazy high which is like whatever but if you charging an arm and leg for a simple caramel frappe and bacon egg and cheese croissant i should at least not have to feel as though Im BOTHERING you for simply trying to support your business. This isn’t the first time I’ve been there it will most definitely be the last but this was just the worst I’ve experienced having going there. The woman never speaks and she’s never kind to her customers but I’ve always brushed it off. The owner replied with some lame excuse, she never apologized for her actions or the way she made a paying customer feel. I will never be spending my money there again which really bothers me because as a black women I love supporting black businesses but the owner of this establishment has some type of things she’s going through at home or something because every time without a fail, she is so rude whenever I come in.

Terrible customer service. The associates working in the store aren’t so bad but the owner herself is very rude and very dismissive. The prices are extremely high only to receive small portions of food.
