The food was okay. It wasn’t bad. My hubby stopped by for breakfast on our way to Panama City. I had the chicken & waffles. My hubby had the Crab Cake & eggs. He was asked if he wanted grits, hashbrowns or home potatoes. He chose the home potatoes. When the bill came, we were charged $3 for the potatoes. That was never mentioned to us. It was good, but nothing to get excited about.
Came here for lunch with my wife and daughter/husband and enjoyed our visit. We got a Turkey Club, Southwest Burger, a Steak & Cheese, and a bowl of Broccoli & Cheese soup - all good, but the sweet potato fries were the best any of us had ever tasted: crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Ambience was classic diner, service was attentive and friendly, prices a bit higher than expected but acceptable.
We had a large group and were tired after a long day in New Orleans, and this place had just about anything on their vast menu from breakfast to burgers. The waitresses and cook staff were awesome and friendly and got us fed with some delicious food! Afterwards, one of the waitresses came running out to our bus with a sweater one of our group left!
We were quickly served by friendly staff. The breakfast came out quickly. The pancakes, eggs and bacon were good, especially the pancakes. The sausage was too fatty and not crisply cooked as I would like. Owner was very personable. Would definitely recommend.
Great red beans and rice, Serve with the side of greens and a salad with your choice of dressing. Very tasty and worth the price.
Regular Good food . $20 dinner New orleans chicken salad, po boy ham and Swiss (warm). No sides, water only. Good music playing. Nice service.
Food was good. Service was good. Restaurant appears to appeal to locals. I would go there again for breakfast.
I read others reviews that this was the best part of their trip and it lived up to the hype. The waitress was super friendly and nice and the good was so delicious. The service was wonderful. I had french toast with powdered sugar and bacon and orange juice and coffee and it was all perfect. This is definitely a must when in the area.
Chicken fried steak was excellent. Grandson had catfish and loved it. Cute diner and well worth the time to visit.
Friendly staff and tasty food. Had bacon burger, shrimp po-boy, fries, pecan pie, and root beer. Classic...

My wife was super excited to have a good country fried steak this morning so we got the “giant" country fried steak breakfast to go. When we got home she was so disappointed. When she opened her go box gravy was everywhere. The "giant" steak was little bigger than a deck of cards and tasted like a TV dinner. The grits were soupy and tasteless. Her eggs which were supposed to be over medium were runny and barely cooked. The only edible thing was the biscuit. Will not be returning.
Jim and I lived here several years ago and ate here occasionally. Always pretty good food, back in town just for an overnight and decided to go back for breakfast... couldn’t remember why we stopped going when we lived there. We took one look at the menu and... bing!... prices are ridiculous for a not very charming diner in Slidell ... prices like you’re in the middle of the French Quarter! We both had bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast...no drinks, just water and before tip it was $26! Food was pretty good, but i don’t expect to pay French Quarter prices in a not particularly picturesque part of Slidell. Won’t make this mistake again... small carton of milk was $3... we passed. I enjoy good food and absolutely don’t mind paying for a nice meal... I do, however mind paying for a nice meal while sitting a dumpy diner eating a mediocre meal. $30 with tip for breakfast in New Orleans... it’s just not justified in Slidell.
We have eaten her twice comming from an appointment in Neworleans for my Treatments. The service was wonderful both times. Boy they fill your plate.even though my taste was off because of my Treatment I still loved it.they are so friendly there my boy friend loved it also I just loved the backed potatoes
We stopped here for lunch after leaving New Orleans. BLT’s and a side salad were a perfect lunch after all the fancy and heavy dining we’d enjoyed in N.O. Nice menu and very pleasant staff. Highly recommended.
Went for breakfast, not worth the money. I had the awesome omelette and it was not so awesome. My daughter had the cake and eggs and it had no flavor, very bland. Hashbrowns came out burnt. Will not be back
