The service is the worst. My husband and I sat there for ever and not one even offered us coffee. It would have been nice if at the very least someone would have acknowledged our presence and said we're a bit behind in the kitchen. But no; not even that was afforded us. We have no idea what the food is like as we left before a single morsel was served.

1st time at Big Mama's...2 tables waiting for food... cook brings out one meal at a time depending if it is the same order... we were too hungry to stay and wait another 30 minutes for food. Maybe next time.

The food was very good. It was hot and omg...tasted soooooooo good! I had the French toast and the pasta. They were delicious. My aunt had chicken and waffles and she enjoyed them. I can say the strawberry lemonade tasted like kool aid. We waited 20 minutes for it and it was weak an watery.It's ducked off a bit, so you gotta be paying attention to see it, but it's worth the hunt. The service was excellent. I can't remember the server's name but he was really nice.The atmosphere wasn't "bad;" it was just basic. The food makes you not care at all. You've gotta eat here!

We love the breakfast, first time trying grits and shrimp. When my husband told me about this dish I was really skeptical, then I read the review and I decided to give it a try. It was Really GOOD!! ? I will definitely make a stop on my trip again just to eat this delicious breakfast. My girls love the waffles as well

This is a super belated review, but my mom and I were passing through LA on the way to TX at the beginning of June and stopped into this place for lunch. It was so fantastic that I’m remembering to write this review a month later! The food was incredible and the owner was just the sweetest lady. My mom is sensitive to carbs and didn’t eat the rice and cornbread, and the owner insisted on giving her a free bowl of gumbo! I’m vegetarian and there were several options for me as well. Just solid people, delicious food and great service. Her restaurant should be packed! If the owner is reading this, I hope you managed to figure out Tiktok and I wish you so much success!

I work for uber and was just picking up an order here that took an hour and still never got the food. It was just a burger and shrimp and grits. I'm missing out on making money. The customer called them they hung up on them. Then she called to talk to the manager and she chewed her out for no reason. This establishment is very unprofessional. There was another table of people waiting forever. I don't know who thinks it's ok to yell at people just asking about their food. Very rude staff

I decided to go try out this restaurant due to the fact it was a brunch place that appeared to have good looking country homestyle cooking…looks obviously are deceiving because the food was nasty and room temperature. The wings were probably the worst out of all the dishes I tried, they looked as if steroids were pumped into the drums but then again the meat looks undercooked. I would never go again…this restaurant is definitely just taking peoples money. The service wasn’t the best either but it was ok.

We were in Slidell, so I immediately checked Yelp to find a place to grab some lunch. I found Big Mama's and was intrigued. I was very pleased when we arrived to find it was indeed a small, local spot. I asked our server and he said he is the grandson of the owner. He was extremely nice and brought us whatever we needed. Some reviewers have said they waited a long time, but we didn't wait that long. It was not very busy when we went, but there were several orders picked up and a couple of folks walked in to place to go orders. Our orders were obviously cooked to order. My partner got the Big Mama's club salad. It was quite large and he said it was packed with everything. He ate every bite. Loved it. I got the shrimp on a bun (fried) which is a bun size shrimp poboy, it was really good. It came with fries and the fries were cooked just right. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with none of that weird crust on them that makes them taste sweeter. So many places carry those fries now and they are awful. These fries were yummy! The portion was plenty but not huge. The prices are so affordable! We both ate including our drinks and a tip for $30. That's almost unheard of these days. On the way out we asked about their meal service, 5 breakfast, 5 lunches, and 5 dinners for $109. They pick but you can request a certain type of meal fir dietary reasons. Gluten free, Keto. You can pick up your meals for the week over the weekend. We might need to give this a try! We look forward to visiting Big Mama's Kitchen again!
