Food was good, but the service on the buffet was very lacking. We came especially for the French toast, and all while we there (all of 45 minutes) it was never filled. For the price of the buffet all items should be filled in a timely manner. Our waitress apologized, but still no French toast. 😒
This is definitely a hidden gem, just outside of Slidell. We eaten at La Pines, Palmetto’s, Southside Cafe, Bonnie C’s and Times Grille. Camellia Cafe’s food is just as good as any of those places! The mac n cheese is soooo good and the fried veal sandwich was ??? Need to go back to try their cakes/pies!!

I had the Eggplant Napoleon with a crabmeat sauce, my aquantaince had red beans and rice with a fried pork chop. Both were beyond amazing! You're making a mistake if you dont stop and savor the food at Camellia Cafe.
The Steak Specials were delicious, with very generous portions, and very reasonably priced. All of their food is very good. Also, the staff was welcoming and kind.

Had the fried chicken special-really good. Husband had the fish/shrimp combo and was also delicious. Lunch and dinner specials are good.

I had the Bistro salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Reasonable price and tasty.
On the the down side, they were out of roast beef and red beans.
It was a Sunday brunch so maybe that had something to do with it.

Five star service from Mary
This is my favorite restaurant in Slidell!! Seriously the best food. The service is so great and I just love it. My husband is from Slidell and I first ate here about 4 years ago. This was our first time back and we were just blown away again. The fried chicken, Mac and cheese, red beans and rice, cornbread, shrimp po boys, and the onion rings were all outstanding. Seriously the best restaurant in Slidell! We are there two days in a row. We will keep coming back every time we are back for a visit.
