El Patron Mexican Grill - Slidell

We decided to dine at this restaurant yesterday, but unfortunately, our experience left us deeply disappointed.

When we arrived, the restaurant was only about 15% full. Yet, the host seated us in the very back, tucked behind a wall in a corner, even though there were plenty of open booths available. He didn’t offer us any choice or mention other options.

What made the situation more uncomfortable was noticing that several other groups, all white, who arrived after us were given booth seating in open, visible areas. We were the only Black guests in the restaurant at that time, and based on what we observed, it felt intentional.

If you are a person of color, please pay attention to where you’re being seated. No one should have to question whether they’re being treated differently because of their race while simply trying to enjoy a meal.

I’ve been to El Patrón Mexican Grill several times, and it has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants! Their churros filled with creamy custard are absolutely delicious and every dish is full of flavor. Their table side guac is awesome 👏🏼 Don’t let any negative comments fool you—come and try it for yourself and you’ll see why this place is such a gem. Highly recommended! 🌮🍹✨

Great food ! Well seasoned, delicious fajitas , my favorite plate “street tacos “ made with lengua (beef tongue) . Best Margaritas in town ! Full of flavor and tequila 😆 I recommend the “Mezcalita” made with hibiscus 🌺 you will not be disappointed.

Food was great and their Mango Agua Frescas are was great too! I can’t remember my server name, but it’s 9/13 1:30p and he wore a blue shirt if that makes a difference. Either way, it was great and I can’t wait to come back! I have my normal spots in Florida, Puerto Vallarta, Texas, Louisiana, Monterrey, Xochimilco, and now I know instead of a place in New Orleans I can also go here! See you guys again soon!

This was my first time going there. I ordered the fajitas. The steak was way over cooked. It was literally black and dry. I also ordered the street corn. It did not taste good at all. I sent it back. I was very disappointed because I love street corn. Needless to say, I wasted $46. I won't be going again.

My server, Angel, was absolutely amazing! He was attentive without being overbearing, made great recommendations, and kept everything flowing perfectly throughout my meal. He made the dining experience feel welcoming and enjoyable, and his positive attitude really stood out. The food was delicious as always, but Angel’s service took it to the next level. Highly recommend asking for him when you come to El Patrón!

The cleanest and best looking Mexican Restaurant in Slidell LA and the food and drinks is absolutely Amazing you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and a must try the Liquid Marijana Drink

ERIK WAS PHENOMENAL!!!! Our first time here for Mother’s Day/ my birthday, the service & atmosphere was amazing! Erik’s recommendations were amazing & he made us feel so welcomed. He was the absolute best server I’ve had hands down. I never leave Google reviews but this was definitely worth it! We’re from out of town but I definitely want to be back bc everything was so perfect. Thanks for making my Mother’s Day and birthday the best experience!
