Have not been to Fatty's in Slidell for a long time. The server Kelly remembered us when we walked in. We ordered Shrimp Alfredo and Blackened Chicken from their lunch menu. It was delicious. I am glad we came back. THEN: We ordered the in house made Bread pudding with whiskey sauce. Let me just say it was like Christmas in your mouth. Delicious! I won't say what places they beat with this dessert. Lol If you haven't been here in awhile or ever, give them a try. The picture is what was left of the bread pudding when I remembered to take a picture.

My visit was in the middle of a slow day. Service was great food was good a little cold. Sauteed crab claws was not hot enough crab cake and boudin balls were fine shrimp and grits for good.

Tasty food. Friendly and attentive server. Love the coziness of the seating areas. Can get close or enjoy elbow room. Clean restaurant and clean restroom. We had the spinach appetizer along with a stuffed crab plate and shrimp sampler as well as the crawfish bread. We also had the gumbo. Hail to the Chef. Really enjoyed all. Delish!

Came Thursday as always for royal red special. Had friends driving from Chalmette to get them also. Always bragged about them. Waitress said no more. Changed up specials. Steak was full of fat and very room temperature. My wife and I have been noticing a decline of the food with no consistency. Chances are we are done. Kenny has royal reds for 7.99 lb all day long. Why fix something that isn’t broken. Just like shrimp & grits old way was great. New way is horrible. Running out of things we liked. Shame on Fatty’s. I hope you read this and rings a bell???? Waitress is clueless and stays by the bar talking to customers.

They were short staffed in the kitchen so it took a while for our food to come out.. but it was definitely worth the wait! The staff was friendly and apologized twice for our wait!

I am so shocked with how good this place is. The Rockefeller oysters and the Seafood Napoleon was so good!!!!! I highly recommend, and our waitress was really sweet!

Walked in to go eat on my lunch Sunday on a 30 min lunch break. Took em 10 mins to even say anything to me. Sanded around twittling my thumbs waiting to get some good food. And drinks ended up going else where because it was slow and nobody up in there anyway got to me. Ran outta patience that I had granted if they just walked me to a table I would've been happy and fine but to ignore me how rude. This happend on a Sunday around 1:40 pm Aug 17 2025. Only had 2 parties sat at a table. Would I go back yes but not for a while again.

2nd Update: I am correcting my review, again. In the end, the misunderstanding was 100% my fault. I appreciate the urgency and thoroughness of their investigation. For me, how a business handles problems is the best measure of all. They were very polite and respectful while showing me the errors that I made.
Our family has always enjoyed Fatty's food and service. And it was the same during our last visit. We travel to eat lunch in Slidell every Sunday. As such, we have a few favorites that we go back to time and again. The variety and quality of their offerings combined with great service keeps them consistently in our rotation.

My husband and I live local and are retired business owners. The food is not horrible but as noted by some others can be really salty at times. The biggest problem is if they error they have an oh well attitude. Really not impressive. They apparently do not respect or value customers. No apologies or offers to make it right. Just a flat acknowledgement which says a lot about the leaders/owners.
