So my husband and I have been coming here for years and just recently we have been noticing they have some new chefs that I guess aren't as good as cooking as the others and you can't pick your chef so we usually wait until the one we want is up next in rotation before we sit down. That being said. Tonight we took a huge gamble and ordered take out. Let me tell you this was the biggest waist of $151 I have ever spent. The food is horrible. The rice tastes like it was cooked in a dirty pan with dish water but my husband says his tastes like it was cooked after fish. The only edible part was the shrimp and the veggies. We ordered the lovers dinner for 2 so that means the steak the scallops the lobster and the rice was all cooked horrible. My kids only eat the rice and when they tried it they were really upset it tasted so nasty they didn't want to eat it and I was upset at first and thought maybe they had to many snacks and it was just bs until I took a bite and had to spit it out. Even my sushi rolls tasted off. So out of a $151 meal we could only eat the salad and soup and we ate half the sushi and the shrimp and some of the veggies. My husband doesn't eat veggies so all he ate was the shrimp and he managed to get down his half of his lobster. After all of this I called fujiama and let them know what was going on and they said the only thing they could offer me was a 20% discount the next time I come and eat there. 20% is a complete joke and to not be reimbursed is even more of a joke. I told them I would bring all the food back we didn't really eat any of it and I expect to lose like $30 out of what I paid but to be told I'm taking a complete loss for this horrible meal then to be told I could only get a 20% discount when that's the same deal the offer in the clippers add is disgusting. These people are absolutely horrible and we will never eat there again. It went from being our favorite go to place to eat to I will never spend my hard earned money there again. I can't believe they really went that savage behind horrible food. Not to mention completely horrible for business trying to keep the customer coming back after this mistake

We frequent Fuji Yama very frequently and normally the quality and quantity of food is amazing. This time the chef was awful. The rice was hard and he barely put any”Dr pepper” on it, and for a table of 9 he only used 3 eggs. Tasted horrible!! The steak and shrimp were only seasoned with garlic and salt-n- pepper. The vegetables were hard. When he did the toss egg in mouth he used uncooked broccoli instead. The salad dressing even tasted different. For the price for a family of 6 I expected food that we would enjoy there and as a leftover. Very disappointed!!!

Wonderful experience! We moved to New Orleans a year ago and could not find any good hibachi places or if we did we could not find one that had our beloved onion soup! However, this hibachi place in Slidell is hands down the best hibachi place in the area! Great service, hot delicious food, onion soup, and affordable lunch prices that go all the way to 3 pm. This is now a regular place for us to visit! So worth it!

We recently celebrated my grandson’s 18th birthday at Fuji Yama, and it was a bittersweet experience that left us feeling quite disappointed. With a party of nine, we anticipated a lively and engaging evening, but instead, we felt rushed and overlooked. Our chef seemed hurried and didn't showcase the usual flair at the grill that we had come to love. The food, typically seasoned to perfection, lacked the rich flavors and careful preparation we were accustomed to. To our dismay, our entire dining experience lasted less than an hour, a stark contrast to the delightful and leisurely meals we usually enjoy there. While we have cherished this restaurant for our family celebrations, I'm now uncertain if it will continue to be our go-to choice in the future.

My family and I have been to this location before and it was amazing. However, after my recent experience I will not be going back. The restaurant was able to seat a table of nine immediately and I was very impressed. However, the restaurant definitely needs some TLC, the vent fell off the grill onto the children’s legs and the floor was wet and creepy looking. After giving our order the chef came out quickly. This was a bonus for us and the family was super excited. However, the performance was not what I’ve been used to and it was actually pretty poor. The guy burnt the eggs and even neglected to give my husband his meat. After the situation was addressed he did go and get more, but the shrimp was still raw after plating. For the cost of the food, I just feel like it wasn’t worth it.

We stopped in on a road trip from Orlando to Beaumont because one kid wanted sushi. I'm a sucker for hibachi, though, so we went for the full experience. Our server, Madison, was amazing! She was attentive and personable, and her smile lit up our lunch! Our chef was also fantastic, and the food was delicious. The lunch portions were generous and reasonably priced. And the sushi kid discovered a new favorite and raved about the California roll and the snow crab roll. A gem of a find in Slidell! I highly recommend a stop at Fuji Yama.

One of the better all around spots for sushi & hibachi in Slidell. Always tables available. Nice & clean looking inside. Overall liked it.
