We were staying at the hotel nearby and walked over. There was walk up service or counter service at the bar (so no table wait staff) but the staff was fast and friendly. I ate the gumbo and it was 10/10!! Also tasted a couple of the daiquiris and they were all delicious (and strong) ;)
We stayed at the hotel next door and got in late and wanted something easy and ideally somewhat authentic/different. The food was phenomenal. We got the fried green beans, chicken cracklins, sea dog, and fish and chips. It was all amazing, but the chicken cracklins and their sauce totally stole the show. I had never been to Louisiana but if I come back through I plan to prioritize coming back here and getting it! I wasn’t crazy impressed with the daiquiri but it was all still...
I always enjoy myself there but the drinks never ever give me a buzz. I rarely go out but when I do I get 1 drink that I can get 1 and I don’t have to get another. Which is a patron margarita. It was weak as water. And that’s every time I have been. I have now just stopped buying alcohol when I go there.
