Ate at LaPines a couple of months ago and really enjoyed it so we went back on the weekend because I really wanted to try their breakfast shrimp and grits. We walked in the door after another couple who had also just pulled into the parking lot. No one spoke to us, no one directed us to sign a list. NOTHING. We sat at a dirty table for about 10 minutes before grabbing the attention of a waitress (still no one had spoken to us or acknowledged us) only to be rudely told by the owner that we needed to be on the list. (Keep in mind the other couple who came in at the same time stayed seated and was waited on) We get up, while people who arrived after us were seated and we were told we would be next. Rudely told you have to wait outside. lol Two more couples called to be seated…. The waitress said don’t leave you’ll be next…. MORE PEOPLE CALLED. Tried to give you guys our money. A simple acknowledgement when we walked in or when we seats ourselves would have solved this issue immediately. Food looked great wish I got to try the shrimp and grits. Can’t make this up folks.
From out of town and stopped by for breakfast and it was really good! Very fast service and got in and out quickly. Food was also really good and well priced!

You know that feeling when you go to your moms house for diner and even though your grown you feel at home like when you were a kid. Thats the atmosphere the amazing cooks and staff bring. Everyone in slidell already knows how much a staple this restaurant is, but i wanted to leave this reveiw for any people visiting slidell, dont miss trying this place.

We live in Mississippi and let's just say I hate waking up early, however, I schedule all of our Dr appts in Slidell for the am so I can get the buscuits and gravy. 10/10 /Chefs kiss/ even better than my own!

We travelled from Newfoundland, Canada and passed through Slidell on our way to Mississippi and stopped at La Pines for breakfast. The food was absolutely amazing and everyone we encountered were so friendly with smiles that feel contagious. Slidell seems like a lovely community and we were so happy to have found such a place. 10/10 recommend La Pines Cafe!
