It was a really nice place. The food was not great, but maybe it was just an off day. I'd advise you to try it out for yourself.

Arrived at 1120 for our 11:30 reservations. Were told there were 2 seatings ahead of us, and we could wait at the bar. We sat at the bar for 15 mins, waiting for service, bartender was by himself, he was Preparing drinks for the entire restaurant. We were then told we could sit there and wait for drinks but tab could Not carry over to table and table was now ready. We opted to be seated. Which turned out to be a very small table on the other side of the bar. All staff appeared to be very busy, hustling around a busy outdoor dining area. A young lady came and took drink order and appetizer order after about 10 mins and scurried off. Outdoors was busy, but not full. Our table was on the direct path from the kitchen and bar to the outdoor seating. Heavy traffic area. Appetizers were the chargrilled oysters, good and the spinach dip with seasoned crackers. Nice, but lacked a true flavor. Drinks were good. Turned out the bar tender was also working as our waiter. My Husband had chicken and waffles. The Waffle was crisp and light, very tasty, the chicken strips were plan. I had the Boudin Eggs Benedict. Was very good other than poached eggs were over done, yolk was semi soft at best. Presentation was well done. All staff were friendly but seemed rushed the entire time. Outdoor area looked lovely. Where we were seated we could not hear the music outside. Overall - food was good, setting outside was cute, would definitely ask to be seated there if we ever go back. Consider having a small outdoor drink service area or more staff ??

We really enjoyed our visit. Reserved a table inside but when we got there we noticed the jazz band was outside. The hostess happily made arrangements for us to sit outside. It was fantastic! My new favorite place to do brunch!
The experience was terrible. We have never had these issues when dining here in the past. It first took a very long time to put in our drink order. We then had completely eaten our appetizers before we were ever asked to place our entree order (it was extremely out of character and caused the food take a very long time to then arrive). Additionally we ordered 2 steak and frites entrees and I ordered a cup of chicken and sausage gumbo. Eventually our dinner was “served”. My wife received a steak and frites meal, but I was being served an entirely different steak dinner (chargrilled steak). After pointing out I was given the wrong meal, the waitress took it back but brought it right back to me, explaining they had a mix up and gave my steak and frites to someone else..... I was then asked can't you just eat this one and I will give you French fries (this is a totally different steak, totally different sauce, totally different meal...). Seriously that is the way you remedy this issue? In my experience the correct meal is served even if a screw up is made or a refund is made! This was ridiculous in order to not cause a scene I had to eat a steak dinner that was not what I ordered, and was the worst steak I have ever eaten! I only could eat half of it. Just wait there's more!!!! I also never got my gumbo, until the very end of my meal. Waitress acted like giving me it for free was making up for the terrible service... like really a $9 cup of gumbo makes up for the totally screwed up dinner? I have never experienced this bad of service here or anywhere else for that matter. I cannot believe a manager was not sent to our table after the first mistake of serving me the entirely wrong steak entree, but after my gumbo never came out you would expect management to come speak and make up for the terrible experience. After tonight it will be very difficult to ever want to eat at Palmettos again.

Thus restaurant never misses. From the appetizers to the drinks to the desserts, you won’t be disappointed. Recommend trying the chargrilled oysters! The outdoor seating is beautiful as well. Our server sierra went above and beyond to take care of us. Can’t recommend it enough.

I had a reservation for my birthday and then was denied entry because they were overbooked. They sat a table of 2 right before me and my guest, and then didn't have a table available. This is after they called me to confirm the reservation. Can't even rate the food. Just overly frustrated on my birthday. This was a waste of gas and time, as I live 45 minutes away.

Went for Sunday Jazz brunch with a reservation. We showed up about fifteen minutes early, and we did need to wait for our table to be cleared but: we were early. We sat on the outside covered deck which was beautiful. It was a nice if slightly cold day and they had heaters scattered around to make things as comfortable as possible. I didn't manage to get my servers name, but he was very friendly and funny. We ordered a biscuit basket that I wouldn't recommend because they were very crispy, almost like they had been deep fried, but the bananas foster butter and apple butter that came with them were phenomenal. I got a cocktail that I think was called A Wonderful Thyme-with Tito's Vodka, blood orange, ginger beer, and a sprig of thyme- it was wonderful. Balanced and not too sweet. I also had a mimosa with my entree that was very obviously and welcomely made with fresh orange juice. My son had a cup of gumbo that is by far the best gumbo in Slidell, and I ordered the boudin Benedict while my husband got the chicken and waffles, and my kids got steak frites. The steaks were beautifully cooked and the fries could have used a little more salt but we're crispy. My poached eggs were very nicely cooked but I wound up stealing my husband's food because this fried chicken is out of control good. Like seriously the best fried chicken I have ever tasted. Seriously, go to brunch here just for the fried chicken. Overall, wonderful day and well worth the money.

Palmetto's is a beautiful casual restaurant. Several people recommended Palmetto's for brunch today. We made reservations a few days ago. When we arrived the hostess put us in the corner of the front room. Several people after us were seated in the back with a beautiful view. We were stunned that we had such a horrible seat in the restaurant. We ordered the chargrilled oysters & they were delicious. My husband really enjoyed his trout almandine. I ordered the smash burger & it did not live up to my expectations. Great setting but there is a lot of room for improvement.
