Delicious food and awesome ambiance! Plus it's such a large restaurant that it can fit a lot of people. I hate waiting!! Would definitely go again if I am ever around the area!

As always, the food is delicious. We recently had the special, ramen, which came with either shredded beef or chicken and spicy or not. The broth was delicious and seasoned well. I chose the spicy option, which was not super spicy, just a hint of heat. It came with melted cheese, a boiled egg, and chopped red onion on top of a mound of noodles and shredded beef. We all would order it again. The atmosphere is also a key point. The space is large, airy and open, and beautifully decorated with plants galore. We always enjoy eating here and grabbing a coffee to go.

We went for our anniversary last year for the first time and it was excellent. We have eaten there a few times since and enjoyed every time. The decor is great, the food is awesome, and the people are wonderful.

What a wonderful experience!! The food was top notch, the atmosphere was so fun, but the best part was our conversation with the waiter. My mother-in-law is Cuban, so we took her here for something special. Come to find out, the waiter was from Cuba too. He spent so much time with us, sharing stories of Cuba and listening to to her stories as well. He truly made the experience incredible. MIL says that the food is super authentic and ranks it right up there with the best of Miami. La verdad, que rico!!

Our family dined in for the first time and we LOVED IT! This is an AMAZING restaurant!! Loved the Cuban ambiance, warm and welcoming atmosphere, the FOOD, OMG!!! Our waiter suggested the dragonfruit mojito and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! My husband and daughter had virgin mango mojitos and they were delicious and refreshing! Absolutely recommend!! This is definitely a gem in Slidell!!!

Best Cuban sandwich I've had in years. Waiter was great. Will definitely be going back. Good thing it's as far from my house as it us or I would be going frequently.

The croquetas were not too great, and the Cuban sandwich had a very strange flavor. Both featured ham, and the ham that was in them just didn't taste right. Maybe I'm spoiled as I eat Cuban food in south Florida all the time, but it just didn't do it for me.

Outstanding Cuban comfort food! Clean establishment and great service. I would return and recommend anyone to come here.

This was my first visit to Que Rico. I ordered Lechon Asado, which is so full of flavors & amazing. Most of the entrees are served with black beans, white rice & fried plantains. The BEST black beans I have ever had. Even though I was stuffed, I ordered the Tres Leches, again OUTSTANDING. Literally the BEST Tres Leches that I have ever had. My new favorite restaurant! To add to that, they offer Salsa Lessons...

Que Rico Cuban Cafe has been serving the Slidell area for many years! Historically they were located by a coin-operated laundry in Old Downtown. I ate there many times over the years, so I was glad to see they had reopened west of town. They are in a strip mall with lots of parking. The interior space is open and has plenty of seating. The wait staff is prompt and attentive. It's a great place to enjoy Cuban Cuisine! What is good about Cuban Cuisine? Lots of things! One aspect of Cuban food that is great to try are the plantains! These banana-like fruit are both starchy and sweet depending on their state of ripeness. The riper they are the sweeter they are. These are served both ways in the Havana Sampler, along with some yucca frites and ham croquets. This is a great appetizer to try! Moving on to entrees, there are chicken, beef, and stews that are all excellent. These tend to be cooked down to an extremely tender state. Sides often include rice and beans. Cuban Cuisine relies on black beans as their primary legume. These are spicy and great, but not too spicy. Another great Cuban food to try is their sandwiches! One of these that's popular is the Midnight Sandwich. This is reportedly popular for late night meals in Cuba, but is enjoyable at any time! Another great pork-based sandwich is the Cubano! Cuban sandwiches tend to be pressed, and made with great bread that is crispy on the outside but rich and chewy on the inside. Some other Cuban things to try are Cuban coffee and dessert. For the latter, don't miss the Flan which is a great caramel-covered custard.
