My wife and I stopped in for lunch today. The food was delicious and there are also a lot of spices and other unique grocery items in the market. We’re planning on coming back and bringing some friends with us soon.

I’ve been craving jerk chicken for the longest and was excited when I found this place. Upon walking in, the smell of the food was amazing. Service was really good also. I ordered several things: jerk chicken meal, oxtail side and coco bread. There was a bit of a wait which I didn’t mind. The food looked delicious but it was unfortunately bland. The food isn’t bad at all, it just didn’t have the flavor that I’ve tasted elsewhere. I’d still recommend giving them a try. Plus they sell a bunch of items in the store that you probably won’t be able to find elsewhere.

Just have to give praise where praise is due. Been to many restaurants and stores throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida, this is hands up the BEST place for Jamaican cuisine. Oxtails…PERFECT. Jerk wings… PERFECT. Rice and Peas, PERFECT. Just like home cooking in Jamaica💜. Got some spices at a quarter of the price at the international store. Come visit here, the owners are personable, just beautiful. Thank you Ann, you were a huge blessing to our family this evening. Looking forward to visiting soon. Shop and eat local in the best of ways everyone, this is a must go to place. Would come every day for the patties too 🤗☺️ those are just like Tastees patties, hands up!

Stopped by yesterday morning. Sign said opened but door was locked. Was initially disappointed but decided to call from the parking lot prior to leaving. I’m so glad I made that decision. The business was open, and the owner was inside and had “instinctively” re-locked the door behind him. Once inside, it was a welcoming atmosphere and smells of Jamaica. I picked up various spices, salt dis, bread, sour sop, soaps, etc. The aromas from the back peaked my curiosity, so I ordered curried goat and oxtails to go. OMG! I tasted both when I got in my vehicle, but immediately decided that I wanted to get completely comfortable to enjoy these dishes. If you’re searching for authentic Jamaican cuisine, spices, teas, etc, do yourself a favor and visit this one-stop location. You won’t be disappointed.

I ate here a year ago, and I definitely plan to go back the next time we are in the area. The service was pleasant. They had everything we asked for, plus a neat place to browse and shop for authentic Jamaican grocery items. I had the oxtails, and my wife had the jerk chicken. You can't go wrong!

This is by far the best Jamaican Restaurant in Slidell. There is another Jamaican and Honduran restaurant down the street headed south on Pontchartrain but it’s is not very good and much more expensive.
