Wonderful authentic seafood restaurant in Slidell. Great owners! Fantastic staff. Speckled trout was awesome. Soft shells off the chain. Their gumbo is great! Dinner was so good, we had to come back Saturday for Po' Boys. Ordered the famous roast beef and fried shrimp. Po' Boys were fresh and delicious.

This place is a hidden gem. The location gets overlooked and when you walk inside, nothing to be excited about but just give it a chance. Drink and food specials posted by the door. Drinks are cheap but don't lack quality! Pasta dishes are huge and creamy. Crab claws are plentiful! Seafood tastes fresh

Went to Vera's because I was told the food was really good, so we decided to give it a try. My catfish sandwich was the only decent item that came to the table. Four others at the table had seafood gumbo bowls that came out to the table and it was bitter and tasted old, none of us could eat it. Then the shrimp poboy that came out to the table was horribly served, the bread was so hard, you couldn't even take a bite, the bread was hard as a brick. Tried to eat the shrimp off the poboy bread with a fork and the shrimp were mushy. They were very shrimpy and decided not to try anymore of it. The texture and flavor was definitely off. I was truly disappointed for everyone else at the table. We were a party of 7. The fries weren't even good. It was a cute restaurant set up, and the waitress was pleasant. We explained to the server the issues we had and I understand it was not her fault, but the kitchen staff needs to do better if they plan to stay open. I couldn't give the food a half a star thus the one star on the food. I was disappointed to have such bad seafood in Louisiana.

Food was great, service was horrible. The waitress kept disappearing (I assume to check her FB account). We had to keep asking for our drinks to be refilled. Nobody seemed to pay attention to anything. We could've walked out with all of their honey at the front and they would've never known.

We was passing through and looked up a place to eat some seafood and we also seen the sign on the interstate. The greeter and waitress was great our 1st time there. The food was excellent and we even left a souvenir dollar signed with our names on the wall. We can't wait to come back again..

My husband and I dine at Vera's often. Have never been disappointed. The servers are friendly and always make sure we're satisfied. Food is delicious. No complaints.

Stopped into Slidell looking for a place to have lunch. The lady at the airport recommended Vera's. When we pulled up to the strip mall with more shops FOR rent than rented I made me wonder. "It doesn't look like it, but they have great food. If you get the salad, get the bleu cheese dressing." Ummm, ya, ok. Sure enough, as soon as you walk through the door you're transported into another world. I got a booth, some iced tea and ordered the lunch special, shrimp tacos. OMFG! Best Shrimp Tacos EVAH!!! Oh, yes, it came with a side salad and I got the bleu cheese dressing. I mean, why not, and yes it was amazing. Will I go back? Most definitely. Should you go try it? Only if you're hungry and love seafood. (Quick note: I put down 4 stars for service. Don't get me wrong, it was great service. It just didn't "feel" like the staff enjoyed being there. They did their jobs and service was quick. Maybe it was just an off day for everyone. You be the judge)

Brought my two kids in to eat and the server was extremely rude to us. We also got the raviolis and they tasted completely freezer burnt and cold. I try not to complain because I've worked in many restaurants. But the fact nothing was done about this is pushing me to let others know. 🤍
