We drive all the way from Shreveport to eat here! Haven’t had such good Mexican food since we moved to Louisiana from Texas!I saw a bad review and must refute it—sounds like a competitor’s attempt to hurt a great business to me!!!

The food is not that good...the waiter is friendly...but there's another Mexican restaurant in town that puts this one to shame

First visit here. Seated right away, quiet and attentive wait staff. Complimentary fresh hot chips and salsa quickly arrived. Order arrived quickly, presentation very nice.We ordered street tacos and chicken quesadilla. Street tacos were perfection. Quesadilla, not very good. More braised onions than anything and no cheese, very salty.Great menu variety of food. Will return.

Food is delicious, but for the price you pay portions, especially the sides, could be bigger.

Great food cooked fast. It is way better than Chavos I don't know why people still eat there.

This is not Nicky's Mexican Restaurant & Bar anymore. It is called El Nopal Mexican Restaurant.I truly hate doing a "first-time-eat-in" Review! But hopefully, they see this and make adjustments.Decided to have something different today with hubby. The chips were so good! they were fresh and warm, and I loved the salsa. It's perfect for anyone even children. It wasn't HOT, or mild it was just right. Tiny kick. Then the Queso destroyed it all. It was downhill from there. I have had the best Queso and this was not even close! I was so excited, then the initial first taste!I think it turned! It had no taste and it left a film on in my mouth. So I added some of the salsa, thinking it would give it SOME taste! But nope!If you want some good Queso (Don Juan's Mexican Restaurant) Woooooooo Hooooooo! Wooooow! The flavor! But I'm not reviewing them. Then:I ordered the flour shrimp enchiladas and they came with refried beans and rice and like always a doctor pepper no ice.I really really really wanted to like it. But had to pick through it. It was SO SALTY. Not the shrimp, but the white sauce, rice, and refried beans.I don't know why the rice had a "fishy" taste! I don't know!Hubby had a chimichanga with a side of refried beans rice and Pico de Gallo, and he always have sweet tea. He did not eat the Pico de Gallo but he did eat everything else, like always. I will have to give him a BP pill tonight.I'm sure the rice was made sometime this week or month! It tasted like it. I love refried beans but it didn't hit the spot. They were not fresh either. Please stop trying to hide bad food with salt.On the other hand, the workers I love. I love going to a restaurant and seeing Mexican people cooking their food, and hearing their beautiful language and music. I know y'all mamas would kick y'all "donkeys" for what y'all let leave that kitchen today!
