Stopped in for dinner while traveling through Louisiana, such a great choice! To start, the staff was very friendly and were all smiles when they greeted us. The food... wow! It absolutely hit the spot. Our faves were the boudin balls and the Chicken Fried Chicken. The sides also didn't disappoint; the mashed potatoes were perfectly creamy and the green beans were so flavorful. I highly suggest stopping in for a bite to eat with amazing service!

We stopped through on the way back to Houston from Louisiana, just looking for a bite to eat to hold us. I don't even remember what we got, but it did not taste Cajun/Creole. We figured because of their proximity to the Texas border, they may be more Texas than Louisiana.

The food was good. I got the stake, and you would not believe they hid the prices from menu, so you have no idea how much it cost until the bill comes, then you found out they are charging you $40 something dollars for a sirloin steak really? Definitely over priced. I do not recommend this place. What a rip off.We ended up paying over $70.

$91.00 Order consisted of : $18 Crab claw appetizer - tasty, but $18? $11 Fried Green Tomatoes - 5 silver dollar sized tomato slices for 2 (really?) Small (5) butterfly shrimp w/FF & Slaw - FF had some god awful crap on them. Shrimp/Oyster dinner not bad, but them damned FF's SUCK! Iced Tea so weak you could see through it. New owner needs to get the previous owner back here to teach them about food. Last time here...too expensive to eat at a glorified Tasty-Freeze!

Came in hungry after a long road trip. The fried green tomatoes were top notch, and the cream bacon sauce was so good - I ate it with a spoon! The big bowl of gumbo needed to be heated a bit more, I like it molten hot - but still had good flavor with veggies and shrimp. Going back tomorrow before I leave to get a poor boy or two! Wait staff was attentive and management kindly gave tomorrow’s specials ahead. Nicely done!

The food was just horrible and terribly expensive. The burgers were cooked on the outside, but raw on the inside. They brought it to the kitchen and returned with a hard burger that my kids couldn't eat. My wife and I had Catfish Mamou, and it was just okay. Tasted like leftovers from a few days ago. It was not very good, but the price was certainly expensive. We didn't even finish our food. My wife came home and cooked. $79 completely wasted. Never Again! This was the worst eat out experience ever!

We placed order before give a name they hung up. Then when I get there to pick it up they tell me that don’t have the side that we ordered. Young girls too busy cutting up laughing to realize someone needs to go get new sides that I picked. I step off to side to wait and floor very very sticky. Only professional person behind the desk was lady name Lindsey. I’ve not impressed with service last 3 visits and will not be coming back.

6 total orders, mostly small catfish plates, to go. Everything arrived soggy and was picked up within 15 minutes of placing the order. The picture is what you get when you order hamburger steak with no onions, double fries, and extra gravy. This was an employee lunch and we 10000% will NOT be back.

Good home cooking and excellent service in a casual, family friendly atmosphere. What more can you ask for? We discovered Cast & Cleaver driving from TX to LA. It's easily accessible off I-10, about 1/4 mile off an exit in Sulphur. You can usually tell if a place is good when you see all the locals dining there. And that's exactly what we saw when we walked in. Several folks coming in for lunch after church, groups of parents with small children, girlfriends getting together to enjoy their bottomless mimosas, & folks like us just passing by on our drive back home. It's not huge but it's a descent size restaurant with a very open concept so they can definitely accommodate large groups. We where there on a Sunday around noon. They had several large groups dining at that time. As a matter of fact, a group of 8 and a group of 2 arrived right before us and we still didn't have to wait even 5 minutes to be seated. Those girls at the hostess station were on it! They quickly put some tables together for the 8 top, another hostess took the couple before us, and another one took us to our table. Once we sat down with our menus, the hostess told us our server Kinsey would be with us shortly and she was. Kinsey took our order and our drinks (sweet teas) and appetizer (fried pickles) came out pretty quickly. We were seated near the kitchen door area and could see how quickly the food was coming out. The kitchen staff is on point! I didn't see any table have to wait long for their food. Kudos to the wait staff as well. As a matter of fact, there were several large groups dining in while we were there. One of them ordered the bottomless mimosas and they definitely kept their server busy but she handled it like a pro. The food was delicious! We shared fried pickles as our appetizer. Let me tell you, this platter of fried pickles was huge! Enough to feed a table of 4, at least! They were crispy and the batter was so flavorful & perfectly fried. My husband had the Catfish Mamou that comes with cole slaw or a side salad. He loved it! It's a huge fried catfish filet on top of white rice and covered with crawfish etoufee. I had the bowl of chicken & sausage gumbo with a side of potato salad. The gumbo had a nice, dark, flavorful roux, with good amounts of sausage and tender dark meat chicken. I really liked how they served it too. The white rice for the gumbo came in a separate small bowl. This allowed me to control the amount of rice in my gumbo. The potato salad was one of the best I've had. I believe they use red potato. It was so flavorful and light. It didn't have tons of mayonnaise, just tons of flavor. And the best for last, dessert...yummy banana pudding cake. We both loved it! It was so moist & flavorful but not overly rich. It was perfection. We were told it was made by Ms. Rose. Kudos to Ms. Rose for her amazingly delicious creation! Folks, if you're a local to Sulphur and haven't tried this place, try it. And if you're passing by during your travels, stop in for lunch. The food is delicious and the staff is super nice!
