Love love the chargrilled oysters! Service is always great. Some of the other dishes can be hit or miss. Not a fan of the gumbo. Do really like the eggplant dish and few others. Heard the steaks were phenomenal. One of our spots when we come home to Louisiana.
We drove 3 hrs. from Winnsboro, La. to celebrate my birthday. We was very impressed with the cleanliness, great atmosphere, good service and delicious food. This was a first time for us, but it won't be the last.10/10 do recommend...
Food was top notch as always. Staff seemed more stressed than usual; our waitress was very frazzled and we couldn't get refills or timely service most the night.
We eat here almost every weekend. Never had a complaint before but this weekend was not good for several reasons. Our waitress, which we've never had before was awful! She refused to order our appetizer which we have every time. She had the personality of a rock. We will be going back because it's our place but if they seat us with her again we won't stay. On a good note the food was delicious as usual.
It's the BEST grilled oysters,,, EVER!!! You won't regret your visit to this Cajun restaurant!!
Tiffany took care of us at a 5 star level with tasty food to match. It was our date night and I made the reservations. We plan to return to try other items on the menu. 42 years married and appreciate a great dining experience. Happy wife - Happy life - 🙂
The best restaurant in the area! Steaks are incredible and charbroiled oysters are excellent.
Food and service were excellent except for crab cakes. They were very good and had no fillers but every bite had a very sharp crab shell in it. Very nice place to dine.
We were seated promptly for reservation timing, Restaurant was busy and thus slowing service from waitress. Once the refreshments we ordered arrived, we had to inquire to order appetizers, and our main meal. Timing for food to arrive was a long wait, a lot longer than expected for a party of 4. The food displayed on the plates was excellent and very appetizing. The quality of the food was outstanding other than the chord-broiled oysters being tee-tiny. The crispy duck was cooked perfectly, the bone in pork chop tip was was large & very tender, mashed potato's cooked perfectly. The crab cakes are well worth the cost, no filler, seasoned perfectly. The catfish was a little over fried, coming out kind of dry but overall good.
We had a good meal here, but it was lacking in what I call great. Three of us got the eggplant seafood dish which has crab and shrimp. There was VERY minuscule amount of crab in all three of our dishes. I don’t know the reason for this, but it was disappointing. Otherwise it was tasty.

Had our first visit here recently. Food was very good. We went on an oyster night and they were delicious! We also got the hot seafood dip appetizer that was so good. My Old Fashioned was good, not great, I wouldn’t order it again. It was very loud in there. Kinda disappointing for us because we wanted to be able to talk. Service was fantastic though!

Everything about this restaurant is amazing! The corn and crab bisque was seasoned to perfection. The chicken fried ribeye was delicious!!! The bread pudding was off the charts delicious! Run to Cafe Josephine's and bring your family and friends.
