I booked this restaurant because I remembered how much I enjoyed their complimentary bread and oil, and I knew it could comfortably accommodate a larger group for a celebration. Unfortunately, four guests from my party were unable to attend. Only then was I informed of a $15 fee per empty chair. I was shocked. Had I known about this policy beforehand, I would have either chosen a different restaurant or made sure my guests understood the policy.
I called three times in total: once to make the reservation, a second time yesterday to adjust the party size (I reached voicemail and left a message), and a third time today at opening to update the number again. During both the initial booking and the final call—when the reservation size was discussed—I was never told about the $15 fee for each empty chair.
When I was told there would be a $60 charge for the guests who couldn’t attend, I felt gutted. If I had been made aware of this policy at any point during my calls, I would have planned differently, especially knowing some family members might not be able to make it.
We all just came from an important ceremony celebrating my accomplishments at Nicholls, and I was so excited to bring my family here—especially because I’d been raving about their delicious bread and oil. Unfortunately, I learned that it had been taken off the menu six months ago.
The manager was also dismissive and disrespectful. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, she insisted that she had informed me of the policy over the phone, which was simply not true. Like I’ve stated before, I would have planned accordingly had I known about this fee.
I have years of experience working in customer service. I completely understand the need for policy’s like these. I just think there absolutely needs to be a conversation about the no show policy.
After the encounter with the unprofessional manager, I asked her if we could pay for our drinks and leave. The waitress ended up coming back and explaining their need for the policy- which I appreciated and expressed my understanding and apologies, as well as the fact that this fee was never once brought up to me. She said the drinks were on the house and we left a tip for her…
I hope something changes for the sake of this restaurant.
Food was very bland/dry.Wife got the Philly cresant meat was dry like styrofoam and no flavor. Seafood platter was way too expensive, they call it a shrimp and fish platter ($24) but the option to add oysters ($9) and onion rings ($3) cost $36 the most expensive seafood platter I ever ate but not the best. Staff was very friendly and they had good service but the cooks could use some extra training.

This is one of many bad experiences. On Father’s Day me and the family ordered 3 or 4 spinach salads over the phone and no problem. Once we got there to pick it up, they tell us they have a limited menu and no spinach. NO SPINACH, like you can’t open a pack of spinach. Like so many other places now a days, it has seemed to go to crap on service.

We went to Flanagan's for the first time, and honestly, we were not impressed. We were with a large party of people and expected service to be slow. Unfortunately, my food and my husband's food was not good at all. I decided on spinach and artichoke dip as my meal - one of my go to meals at any restaurant. The artichoke chunks were absolutely huge and the dip had no flavor whatsoever. The nasty little breads were so hard and super salty. My husband got the blackened redfish. This comes with grilled shrimp, a crawfish cream sauce of some sort, and vegetables. The fish was so dry the sauce could not even save it. He said the best part of the meal was the vegetables. Never got refills once our food was brought out. Very disappointed and won't be back. The highlight of the meal was the music.
Blackened redfish was delicious.
It is not like it used to be. It is just okay.
We went to lunch for my birthday. It was crowded but it didn't take long to get our food. Everything we ordered tasted great. We got the fried veggie appetizer to start, which I recommend if you have a lot of guests or if you want to eat as your meal because the plate of veggies is huge and stacked! They have a nice little bar off to the side of the dining room also which looked like fun for happy hour. I recommend trying it at least once, you won't be dissatisfied.
“Love Potion” cocktail for
Valentine’s Day!
Service staff is not real nice. The food however is awesome
Terriers Takeover at Flanagans for EDW vs Vandy game on Nov 29th. That's nice, I thought it was a pregame place for EDW fans. Better get them to come every week next football season because I will never go for pregame again. Sellouts !

Horrible service. Bar was packed and one area of the restaurant was being used for overflow of party in the bar. Told we could sit at a table. Waitress came by at 450 to tell us we could sit there but the restaurant didn't open until 5pm. Could have taken a drink order but NOOO. Didn't come back til 510! Food was below average. Not the Flanagans when Francis Freeman ran the place. Won't be back.

Haven’t been here in years, but the food was delicious & the service was perfect! Very nice staff!
My personal favorite is the Shrimp Lafourche pasta. But everything on the menu is spectacular. This place is an absolute must try for anyone visiting Thibodaux/Houma.

So, I've been eating at Flanagan's for decades. It's our go to restaurant for family get togethers. Over the last year or so it has progressively gotten disappointing. The portions get smaller , the quantity of quality ingredients decreases. I think today will be our last visit for awhile. Apparently, when you order a bowl of gumbo, they bring out a boal with like 2 scoops of rice and poor a cup of gumbo in it. I understand the concept, you're getting more gumbo bc the rice isn't in the cup, but that just seems very wrong to me. It's a pretty significant price jump for the bowl....you would expect much more than just a cup of gumbo. Not only that. The seafood gumbo had hardly any crab in it. It was mostly shrimp. Idk, just really disappointed bc we all loved the place and just cannot justify the cost with the quality you're getting.

We always walk away from this place talking about how good what we’ve just eaten was. Never disappointed!
